DS2 thread.

It's just a really bad version of DaS1, but a bad version of DaS1 is still infinitely better than the shitty action game DaS3 is. At least 2 is still an RPG.

None of the souls games are RPGs.

>None of the sousl games are RPGs
okay then brainlet, what are they?
Do not say "Soulsborne"
Do not say "Action RPG" as if that disqualifies it from being an RPG
Do not say "Hack N Slash" as if that disqualifies it from being an RPG

>implying Demon's Souls, Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2 aren't SOULplaying games
seethe shitter, d'''s'''3 is the odd trannaction game out
die bitch die

Do you want to specialize in strength, dexterity (strength, but with different attack animations), or intelligence?

Why the fuck are there 3 bosses in the row? Who thought it was a good fucking idea?

Do you want to play with a shield or without a shield (this alone changes the entire dynamic of melee combat)
Do you want to use Sorcery, Pyromancy, Miracles, a combination?
Are you going to use a bow and arrow or crossbow?
Do you wear light armor, heavy armor, no armor? Are you going to fatroll or ninja flip? Are you going to play at 100% or higher equip load?
What kind of weapon will you use, a big axe, small axe, katana, fuckhuge sword, caveman club, spear, rapier, straightsword, whip?
Are you going to use consumable throwing weapons?
What route are you going to take through the game? What NPCs will you interact with in what way? What ending are you going for?

None of those things require dedicated perk investment besides one or two stats. They are all played similarly and don't require much deviation in terms of what buttons you're pressing. You can expand upon a topic using more words than necessary, which is what you did, but it doesn't change the fact that it lacks any form of true intricacy or "build" development.

Souls games were always action games.

>They are all played similarly
lmao play the game at 100% equip load trying to tank everything like a classic sword and board heavy knight with NO ranged attacks whatsoever.
then play a dagger wielding pyromancer in cloth rolling around shit. It is a completely different experience.

Try a Belmont run, again a much different experience. Do something extra gimmicky like bows only, it can be done and it's entirely different than GiantDad minmax shit. you're a fucking retard.

They're not different experiences. Perhaps from a personal aesthetic perspective, but in terms of actual gameplay there's only 2 or 3 true "builds". The only true difference in all of those builds you're describing is the attack animations.

To walk these threads. To see the same shitpost everyday.

This is the real curse right there.

honest question, how many years of shitposting does it take to be able to kill threads as fast as you do?

The truth is not shitposting.

You mean it’s a better version of DS1

Fuck no.
B-BUT MUH PVP!!!

PvP in Souls has always been bad tertiary content that doesn't fucking matter in the slightest. the core PvE campaign experience is all that matters.

I don’t care about PVP. DS2 is just a better game.

No. No it's not. The control is floaty, weapons disintegrate too fast, level design sucks, bosses mostly suck, you're far more limited in where you can go (ESPECIALLY in Scholar of the First Sin), and it takes way longer to get a build going.

DS2 is so disappointing.

But that's not how people play. Maybe it's how you feed your autism but you aren't a human if so. If you go sword n board you manage equip load as you go. And you always have a long range option. Because not doing that would be a stupid move only done by people trying to limit their options.

If we can just make up limitations to define how a game plays then it sucks that in every Call of Duty you can't shoot any guns. I mean they are right there but it's a totally different build if you only use grenades.

See how goddamn stupid that sounds?

Dark Souls 2 would have been easily salvaged by making travel between major areas through magical portals instead of elevators and by getting rid of soul memory entirely

just doing those two things would extinguish 90% of the hate towards an otherwise fine game that actually had better build and skill diversity than DS1 and much better PVP

Mario games are RPGs because you can choose to use fire flowers, tanuki suits, frog suits and you can choose to either jump on enemies or punch them.

Based and SOUL pilled

>NOOOO BUILD VARIETY AND WILDLY DIFFERENT COMBAT PLAYSTYLES DON'T MAKE RPGS ONLY DIALOGUE CHOICES ARE RPGS
lmao loser, go play Baldur's Gate 2 then faggot.

3 bosses in a row is optional.

There are like 3 different combat playstyles in DS games.

What's the point of the fucking eagle that carried the Pursuer if the guy can just teleport by himself to the places?

Le cool entrance

How many Pursuers are chasing the Bearer of the Curse?

Did you hate it because Yas Forums said it was bad? I guarantee you everyone on this board who is a Souls fan played and enjoyed 2 on its release.

>Do not say "Action RPG" as if that disqualifies it from being an RPG
Of course an action rpg game is also partly an rpg. Tell me, why do you say ds2 is more rpg than ds3? The rpg mechanics are the same.

I wish DS3 had those animations for being at low stamina and low HP that DS2 had. But that's just my autism. Also, what happened to the fast ladder climbing?

Is this a meme

Why does this 1 black user keep purposefully putting his hand in all his pics he posts

>no Dark Souls 3
I don't say this very often but BASED.

You have an issue here whitey?

Less so about DS2 specifically, but I keep being hesitant to jump into the series. Everything I see about the games make them look much more annoying than challenging and I'm not sure if I wanna drop up to 40 bucks on games I might not even like.
At the risk of sounding plebbit, how comparable is the challenge of the DS series to Hollow Knight? I found HK had the perfect difficulty for me, but that's also because I definitely prefer speedy 2D games to 3D ones.

Based

Dark Souls is much easier than Hollow Knight and it doesnt require you to already know the enemys attack pattern to be able to dodge it.

same old fukcing story
>Yas Forums says a game is shit
>some contrarians show up
>easily impressed people think its cool to be a contrarian
>most hated game actually becomes the most discussed
>back to point 1

Only people who complain about DS2 are the ones who got filtered by it

DS2 has always had the most SOUL. It's too bad it got shipped like a year or two before it was done.

DS2 fans be like...

Attached: 1568923172549.jpg (1742x1120, 584.79K)

I started with 2, so I wasn't disappointed that it wasn't 1. It's a good game.

Souls fans enjoyed it so much on release that From had to release a revamped version like a year later to address some of the problems that Souls fans relentlessly shat on it for

I played and didn't enjoy souls 2 on release.

I enjoyed it more than most other games but within the trilogy I rate it the lowest. The formula From uses is so good that even their poorest entries are better than other games in my opinion.

>floaty

Ah, the reddit word.

>skipping das3
>still have sekiro
>still have 99 new moon grass
Das3 still has an active community user is worth playing.

>More Dark Souls 3 hate.
Sounds like these people all got bodied.

Nah more like this
>famous Japanese guy makes game
>Japanese guy makes spiritual sequel recycling 90% of the ideas from old game
>weebs hail this as genius
>new team comes in and actually delivers fresh ideas
>weebs on Yas Forums sperg out that famous person was not apart.
Ds2 had so many fresh good ideas
>torch’s lit at bonfire
>deathless and bonfireless rings
>darth maul twin swords
>swag for high level invaders.
>slower estus fill so scrubs can’t panic drink.
The hate ds2 gets is because it’s not made by Miyazaki. It’s only hero worship.

Every game ever made is shit according to Yas Forums... what are you on about?

Nameless King was only hard because they deliberately overtuned his damage output compared to every other enemy in the game
Otherwise he wouldn’t be hard because you have infinite Stamina and instant Estus

It's almost like Yas Forumsedit is full of 16 year olds who you shouldn't care about. DS2 is the best by far in terms of variety and replayability. Every build and weapon is very viable

Also the most colorful souls game

A man of unequivocal taste?
Here?
On Yas Forums?

Why are you black?

DaS1 is kind of broken because you can backstab just about every enemy. Also, the 2nd half is shit. DS2 is at least consistently good throughout, and the DLC is the high mark of the whole series.

>High mark of the whole series.
It had some great locales and enemies, but that is a goddamned loaded assumption.

Attached: maxresdefault (4).jpg (1280x720, 145.46K)

Ds2 is a game full of technical faults and good ideas that are implemented terribly.
Ds3 is full of bad ideas implemented very well.
I know which one I'd rather play.

What are you referring to?
