As somebody who lives in a rural area that can’t get broadband, only a mobile hotspot from Verizon or some garbage like Hughes Net, this the main thing that killed my PS4 gaming (outside of the disc drive failing). I don’t want to get a game that requires a 20 GB day one patch that I’ve then got to drive 45 minutes to my sisters house fo jack her internet. When I was when in college it was fine because I had broadband. Tech companies have basically said fuck you if you live in an area without high speed internet. That’s fine I guess, it just kind of sucks. This is why the Switch has unironically become my favorite console right now. I can buy the carts and usually have the full game unless the developers are Jews who make you download half the game instead of making it on a higher capacity cart. Even if I have to download a patch, it’s usually no more than 1 GB, which I can actually handle on my Verizon hotspot. Nintendo is the only company I feel like has retained some of that feeling of how gaming used to be, even if the switch is admittedly underpowered in comparison

I don't see how any of that relates to playing the video game. Maybe having a manual but they phased those out pretty early in the generation. You're lucky to get a single sheet of paper with a DLC code on.

The only console worth owning now is the Switch, and that too just for its exclusive titles.

The physical object is nice on a shelf, the sensation of taking the disc out and putting it in the machine is nice, it's a physical object not reliant on flimsy digital bullshit to work. You should examine your mental illness that is digital only, it's serious.

I don't have anything against hanging onto your physical copies because it's more reliable than digital downloads, but by the time a console is cracked and you're guaranteed to be able to play every game forever it's time to start wondering why you are so obsessed with nothing more than putting a disc in a drive.

"Indie" is a meaningless label by this point. A lot of "indie" stuff is double-A levels of quality/content, and much of it is excellent.

the same happened to me but on a 300MB/S fiber optics internet.

whenever we booted the PS4 the internet would be fidgety and slow as fuck.

Could be DLing torrents on 3 different PCs no problem at other times.

I like good video games, like the PS1,PS2, SNES,N64,Gamecube. I don't waste my time on indie garbage when I have endless amounts of 10/10 classics to play.
