The DSi

The OG DS was the last Nintendo console made out of nintendium. Everything since has been weak, flimsy and soulless.

New 3DS XL

Everything since has been designed for baby hands. Least my snes classic didn't downsize the controllers.

False, my wiiu could probably get run over and still work.

I actually really like the look/feel of the OG DS, not to mention the fact that you can cave a skull with it and keep playing but you can't beat the lite's screen. Is there any way to mod the OG's backlight?

Lite. More compact for better closure, better button placement, better buttons. The only downside is that the GBA slot isn't as recessed, so the carts stick out awkwardly.

I still love my OG DS to death, though.

This, but unironically.

Is it worth getting a new 2ds xl or is the no point now thanks to emulation?

I have big old meaty hands and long ass fingers so I prefer the original over every other version of the DS. I'm also one of those grown ass men who uses those big rubber grips for their handhelds because fuck you they feel good to use and can easily double my play time.

DSi XL. I love that big screen.

You can really tell nintendo is really narrowing their audience down to 10 year olds instead of trying to make something for all ages.

I swear joycons are so fucking uncomfortable to hold due to their size that it's a wonder there isn't just outright an adult size joycon.

fpbp

Fat is more soul

I have larger hands, but prefer the DS Lite to the 3DS XL. I like the larger screen on it, but it's a bit heavy and awkward to use.

The tank because GBA games didn't stick out 3 miles like the lite.

Specifically I'm talking about the new 3DS XL. Maybe the older one was better.

The phat has far, far better buttons. Especially the d-pad. Unfortunately the Lite has a dogshit d-pad.

That being said the Lite also has a much brighter screen, so pick your poison (supposedly the Phat has less ghosting, though)

OG DS hinge would break all the time

nintendium died with the gameboy line

prove it

I dont have a drivers license.

i'm 21. it just aint worth it

Lite.

Which one is better for playing GBA games? I want to buy a DS partially so I can play games on something better than the AGS-001 screen.

Neither

DS is good, but it can't use the link cable or connect to Gamecube, so the absolute best option would be a GBA SP.

HOW AND WHY?

I already have the SP, but I want a better screen and AGS-101s are really expensive. Plus, I wanted to try out the GBA connectivity some DS games have.

>Can't play GBA games
Fuck off

I never liked the material the DS Lite was made out of. And while it's not as sturdy as it should be, I do prefer the look of the original DS, it's a big bulky thing with grooves and angles, but the DS Lite to the 3DS were all just flat, plain, flimsy little things.

DS Lite has a better screen and longer battery life. The original has washed out colors but some prefer the larger size of the unit. Screen size is about the same on both I think.

As a 22 yo i feel that feel your feeling deeply

i had ds lite and the hinge broke as well

Not if you hack it, retard.

Never used a phat, but the lite was a terrible piece of hardware.
>Fragile
>Screens had horrible motion blur that made action games close to unplayable
>mushy imprecise dpad

All of the emulators that exist suck duck.

Screen wise the Lite is superior, but the phat looks so much better, absolute 2000stechkino.

delete this

Lite, unfortunately. My hands prefer the Phat, though.

I really hated the way they went back to a shitty phat design when they first announced the 3DS. It was the most money-grabbing Jew thing ever, blatantly done so they could release a lite model a couple years down the line. It's fucking dishonest after they'd already made the DS Lite and DSi the design standard.

Really there's not a large difference between the two. I prefer the buttons on the fat so I'd rater play with that, but this isn't a case like the GBA where you're outright retarded if you don't play on an SP.

>it's a wonder there isn't just outright an adult size joycon
i gotchu senpai

>phat ds is compatible with some gba accessories, more durable, and more comfortable
>dsi has flipnote, some neat exclusives, improved internet capabilities, and is compatible with some 3ds accessories
>ds lite has ???

The lite series and the 3DS are the most uncomfortable things to hold in the world unless you have baby hands, the corners always dig into my palms after a while. I miss the OG DS man.

Based, just got one of these recently because the OG stock ones broke from dust and I actually enjoy playing in handheld mode now.

The switch itself it's fucking indestructible. It survived being literally impaled by a waterjet and being droped from 1000 feet.
Only the joycons are shit.

The OG 3DS was like the same size as the DSL.

what was the point of the dsi

lite

>imagine unironically liking the lite better
Enjoy your piece of shit ghosting screens, uncomfortable af design and gba games sticking out of the chase, dummies

imagine being sausage hands

>drop the game pad once
>the amiibo-scanning chip insides comes loose
>the game pad no longer works with games that have amiibo compatibility and have to buy a new one

no.

I had a lite first so I prefer it, I think it's better for storage when folded.

3DS

OG has amazing shoulder buttons and dpad but poor battery life and a really dim shitty backlight.

Lite has better battery, backlight and overall ergonomics but is flimsy.

Definitely the Lite. More colors, can still play GBA games, sleeker, larger stylus, better battery, and buttons feel better

no user you can play it natively now through reverse compatibility.

you're welcome :D

>tfw my phat ds is as old as some people posting on this board right now

This just uses GBARunner2 which is buggy garbage. Audio is fucked and last time I checked most games don't even save.
>natively
Only partially, it uses some fucked up virtualization using the memory protection unit which is absolutely not how it was meant to be used.

lite

Lite, so many memorys, and gameboy games
