I just played FF7 for the first time and while I did like Tifa more, I quite enjoyed Aerith/s as a character. I thought she was just gonna be the usual damsel character just based on design and the fact that I knew she died. I didn't expect her to be so charming though and kinda snarky in her dialogue. She really helps to push Cloud through the earlier parts of the game and even comes up with the cross-dressing plan to save Tifa. Even her final moment isn't wasted as she uses it to cast Holy in attempt to fend off the meteor. I really liked Aerith/s and would say her femininity adds a lot to her character. She isn't just a girly girl, but instead is a part of the team like Tifa, Barret, etc.
