Smash Bros Ultimate

How do you rank the 3rd parties?

Attached: 3rd parties.png (1064x463, 359.81K)

shit dead

I like all of them except Joker, Terry and Bayonetta. They just don’t belong. They aren’t iconic like Sonic, Pac-Man, Cloud, etc. One is being shilled even though their game isn’t on a Nintendo console. One is from a meme QTE game that sold like shit. The other was dug up from 1998 and Sakurai had to say, “it doesn’t matter if this character is a literal who... just matters if they’re fun!” Even if he said, “not just any 3rd party can join, they have to be recognizable.” Backtracking at its finest. Nigger choices.

Bayo and joker shouldn’t be in they feel awkward as fuck. Everyone else is good and makes sense.

Your list is objectively correct

PAC-MAN XD BASED.

Back in the day Terry was pretty recognisable. He just wasn't the focus of even his home series, like Ryu was all those years.

Yeah I don't get your beef with Terry. Being not as popular doesn't mean they don't have their place. He's a legend. He helped pave the way for a lot of fighting games. He's recognizable, appeared in like 30 games over the course of 25 years, and has had multiple anime adaptions. I feel like he's done plenty to earn his spot.

Actually based

all are fitting picks except bayonetta and banjo (and i grew up with banjo)
i like all their movesets except terry and sonic
theyre generally all good with fantastic stages (except pac-man) and music (except cloud)
joker is the face of modern jrpgs. persona 5 is fuckin massive.
you cant say cloud fits in but joker doesnt. you're out of touch if you think that.

This thread is interesting. I didn't realize so many people seethe about bayo's inclusion in smash. It's one of my favorite series so bayo feels iconic to me but I realize she's not really mainstream. Despite that I think she deserves a spot considering she's one of the few big name third party IPs with games exclusive to nintendo hardware. I guess people might still be mad about her being OP in the last smash game though

>cloud
>sonic
>hype
On reveal maybe but their movesets are the most uninspired in the game.

>I can't believe it-
>Mama mia, Sonic, Ima so sorry...
>I'm on TV!!

>joker is the face of modern jrpgs. persona 5 is fuckin massive.
Massive yet it barely sold 3M copies worldwide worldwide. Nice delusional world you live in. The face of modern jrpgs, what a joke. DQ11 sold more than Persona 5 and that game came out almost a whole year after P5. I expect this sort of bullshit from a Personafag but it doesn't make it any less embarrassing to read. Even the idea that you put him in the same sentence as someone like Cloud is especially laughable.

I hate them all

How do I get good at this game? Who should I be using?

>Joker
Should have been literally anyone else
>Bayonetta
A literal fucking ad
I'm fine with everyone else.

It's fucking weird that we got 3 Sega characters and yet 2 of them are Bayo and Joker. Could they have not pick better characters after Sonic the fucking Hedgehog? That's like instead of adding Donkey and Link after Mario they add Byleth and Inkling. Makes no sense.

Joker, Cloud, and Snake are the only ones I care about. The Belmonts are neat too.

Man you can like Persona 5, but don't spout blatantly false crap and compare him to Cloud

those characters are more representive of platinum and atlus respectively, no ?

Three Houses sold more than Persona 5 just remember that

It's weird that we got another Street Fighter character before a Sonic or MegaMan character.

>people think bayonetta was a bad choice
God, how come people have such awful taste? Bayonetta was a great addition.

>It's weird that we got another Street Fighter character before a Sonic or MegaMan character.
It's not weird because Ken is an echo.

>Best
Snake
>Most Iconic
Sonic, Simon, Cloud, and Pacman.
>Incredibly popular
Megaman
>Fun
Banjo, Terry.
>Iconic but in literally every crossover ever bringing a lack of enticement.
Ryu/Ken
>Meh
Bayo
>Tainted RPGs
DQ
>Autistic fan gathering that killed any discussion of Sony platform titles or JRPGs
Joker

>God, how come people have such awful taste? Bayonetta was a great addition.
Cry, faggot. Some people have different opinions. That's just how the world works. Yours just happens to be shit.

Megaman is more iconic than both Simon and Cloud though.

Pacman and Bayo are the only ones I care about. The others I either haven't played their games or I have played them but didn't enjoy them.

Is this ranked based on the characters' viability, the way they are represented, or how much you like/dislike them?

>Pacman and Bayo are the only ones I care about.
What an odd combination.

Only ones I care about are Ryu and Terry (and the former should've been literally any other SNK character)

Pacman, Megaman and Sonic deserve their spot.

FF and DQ needed better reps (chocobo/moogle and slime respectively)

The rest can fuck off.

>Bayonetta and Joker over Eggman and Arle
Why?

Attached: 8796.jpg (480x360, 23.12K)

He's cool but i knew who all the others were before i'd have ever heard of Megaman, i only found out about him through MvC. granted he could be more popular in other regions i guess.

However common sense is based on.

>using a low-level monster and a glorified horse instead of the characters who represent the main gameplay of their series.

>and the former should've been literally any other SNK character
wut

They represent the series more than fuckers that appear for a single game and are lucky to get cameos later on.

At the very least DQ handled it better than FF, but slime is almost pikachu and mario level of iconic, no amount of hero skins can compete with that.

>(and the former should've been literally any other SNK character)
>former
>SNK
You're referring to Terry, right?

I get Eggman but Arle is stupid as fuck. Why would bootleg Tetris get representation as a playable character before actual Tetris.

Meant the latter, no one really likes Terry. Kyo and Iori have always been more popular.

This is a very stupid and autistic way of looking at something. We both know this but it needs to be said.

I think he means Ryu since he said "former" and Ryu's name was said first. If he was talking about Terry, he would have said the latter. It really doesn't make any sense.

Well my gaming experience has been strange to say the least but I'm happy with how things turned out.

Bayonetta and Joker are modern shill shit that have no place in Smash. Everyone else can stay.

You don't play as Slime or Chocobo in the mainline games. Cloud and Hero represent the game mechanics of their series (Hero moreso).

>Kyo and Lori have always been more popular
Oh, it's just an assblasted Kyofag. Nothing to see here folks.

>mascotfagging

I've played like 5 FF games and Cloud was is in none of them, how's is that a good rep?

>Meant the latter, no one really likes Terry. Kyo and Iori have always been more popular.
>twink Kyo and emo Iori
That's laughable. Terry was the first when it came to SNK fighting games. Terry is the one with the coolest design. Terry is the one with 3 anime adaptions (one is a theatrical film). Terry is the funnest one to play as. He was the best and the most obvious choice. Kyo is just some bland school boy who just so happens to be the protagonist of their biggest game and Iori is not even the main protagonist or mascot of any franchise. Let's not be foolish here.

>Hype
Trevor, Mega Man, Sonic, Belmots, Pac Man
>Cool Shit
Terry, DQ Heroes, Ken/Ryu, Snake
>Pretty Neat
Bayonetta, Cloud
>Whatever
Banjo
>Garbage
Joker

Kirby is a third party series.

Which FF game sold the most and is often discussed more than any of the other games?

>Trevor
the fuck are you talking about

Ask a normalfag to name a Final Fantasy thing and it'll be something from 7.

The way to go was to make a Kyo/Iori/Ash tag character which would've been a way cooler mechanic than copying Ryu's bad gimmicks.

14?

Trevor's another Belmont, it's just late and I'm tired

Just in terms of characters. In terms of their movesets and implementation its a lot different.

>The way to go was to make a Kyo/Iori/Ash tag character
Any character that doesn't have Terry or Geese would have been stupid. Also
>Ash
What a random dumb choice.

>Trevor's another Belmont, it's just late and I'm tired
How do you get that confused. He's literally the least popular Belmont of the old games

>Kyo/Lori/Ash tag character
lmao fuck off back to your Korean mmo crossovers where you belong, fag.

>Pac-Man AKA Mr. Video Game is somehow just high tier while fucking Cloud and Snake are considered hype
you're weird, user

Fine, Terry/Kyo/Ryo tag character, better?

>What a random dumb choice.
MC for of the KoF franchise for like 15 years and really popular in Asia, also lore related to Kyo and Iori.

He's the most popular protagonist from the most influential and popular Final Fantasy game.

its funny how all the hype additions are the most boring shit in game

>Terry/Kyo/Ryo tag character, better?
I'd prefer Terry/Marco/Haohmaru. That's how you represent SNK.

>you like character, but you dont like character ENOUGH
yeah fuck off I dont care. PacMan is cool but not as hype as the reveals or inclusions of my favs.

If you wanna be a contrarian, sure. Maybe some but not all.

This is how I would rank their movesets/implementation just in terms of how fun they are to play and fight
I think Sonic is underrated in general, you cant play him as a fast paced/aggro hit and run style instead of just camp and only go in with spindash. Hero and Belmonts are degenerates, Bayo is just shitty and boring.
Banjo ended up having a pretty boring moveset that relies too much on grenade
