Not really, otherwise you would talk more about the gameplay and less about the waifus.

Is Darkstalkers dead? What would it take for them to make a 4th game?

If they did make a new one, would they do 3D like SF or stick to sprites?

Why are NRS game so hated in the FGC?

Morrigan and Felicia cannot exist in 2020.

I love fighting games, but most current fighters have such poor netcode that it's hard to reliably find games with decent connections. I'd play them much more if rollback was standard for the genre.

nice ass

>Fighting games are fun
Fighting games were fun. The new generation of players are just SFV tier with unironic arguments like "my turn to attack".

Vsav has a small but active community online, the fightcade lobby usually has a handful of people.

I think most axtual fans would be caustiously optimistic if a new game. How trustworthy Capcom would be to deliver a satisfying new entry is unknown.

>GGPO is open source and free to use now
>Japanese devs won't use it because "lol we have nationwide fiber connection on our tiny island country"
I can only hope that it catches on with the few western designers and that it bridges the ocean

I haven't played darkstalkers for more than a few hours, but I'd love to give it a shot if a new entry was released. Vsav is cool but it's too niche to invest hundreds or thousands of hours into learning.

NRS fighters usually have weird mechanical dufferences, like the block button, and simple gameplay that they sort of feels like dumbed down fighting games made for normalfags. I don't think anyone wants to hate MK, it just is the ugly step child of the genre.

Fortunately both UNI and GG devs have directly talked about looking into rollback netcode. I've seen quite a few rumors about Strive getting a delay to implement rollback.

Why? The wiki is detailed, the community seems friendly, and fightcade allows anyone with a toaster and stick to play. Most characters aren't too hard to pick up, you can kearn a character like Feicia or Talbain fine with a little effort.

I'm in EU, nobody plays it here. I checked occasionally, but everyone on fightcade is US or JP.

Fair enough. There's actually some EU players but it's a niche there sadly.

I'm sure they'll go back to it eventually. The cast is iconic and instantly recognisable even to people who don't play, and its style would fit perfectly with stylised modern graphics. Recent fighters are all making a push to be accessible too, and Vsav is clean and easy to understand as a spectator. I think it'd do well.

Baseless. Dialogue on the topic was limited to "we're talking about it internally." Don't hold your breath.

Most devs seemingly don't know what GGPO even is. Even lying about it for publicity shows that they're aware it's something players want.

I agree

Yas Forums is too bad to even do a 623x.

Yas Forums hasn't even tried. they're still hotly debating pad vs stick.

They've been aware for a long time, and have been getting questions for years on it. Actions speak louder than words, and the action so far has been "nothing".

Even if I weren't too cynical to believe GGPO would actually happen, we're still a far cry from any proof that Strive is actually getting delayed to implement rollback.

They sure are.

Wow. I had an argument with this dude over basically nothing on discord, and thought it was just the heat of the moment. That was in like 2017 or so. Guy clearly has serious issues.

From what I've heard about netcode switching to a new system halfway in production (or in UNIs case, when you have a finished product) is very costly and involves a lot of internal game restructuring.
Very doubtful the devs will fix it at this point

yeah!

That's true, but fighting games are moving towards "games as a service". They're supported for years with content updates. It would be hugely beneficial in the long term to address this before the game is out (especially since early impressions will affect the future of the game like with SFV). Of course, devs and publishers rarely think any further ahead than launch quarter.

>page down a few times
>see it's another secondary roleplay thread
lol you niggas never get tired of this copy paste shit bumpfest of collecting downsized images.

wait you actually use the page down key on your keyboard?

As the other guy said I don't really think Japan fg devs gives a flying fuck if it hurts their bottom dollar and doesn't positively affect their japanese audience
There's eng community backlash but retards are still buying every new version so what do they care

Western audiences can't win. If people boycott and the game doesn't sell, then fighting games are obviously dead and there's no point in localising them. If they do sell, then there's no incentive to change since everything is perfect financially.

I wanna play one but I don't want to play an anime fighter really
Doesn't leave me with a lot of options

You win by playing games that are actually good like Vsav and SFII

When did you realize Yas Forums couldn't care less about fightan games if they don't offer waifubait?

Attached: 1446067894345.png (67x163, 14.84K)

If it's not waifu bait, flavour of the month, the most recent car crash, or smash roster crap Yas Forums doesn't care about anything
Gotta game the game if you want to talk about anything here

The daily DoA threads

sfv and t7 are your friends and granblue isn't anime, more like off brand sf

NRS is fun, I feel like the relatively heavy commitment on moves fits the brutal aesthetic. Recharging meter was even fine but I feel like even if it doesn't make anymore sense, whiffing normals for meter adds more ways for people to play the fighting game and have fun. I didn't even play dbfz but mfw dbz universe actually has something that makes sense for gaining meter. They should just go way over the top with 20 second matches and the only way you gain meter is by spilling blood but obviously you can always make a read and turn things around.

I'm at the point where I can hold up well against most players but the next level of competition would require learning frame data and shit.
Fuck I'm not gonna bother with that.

Both those have just flirted with the idea, SNK is the only Japanese devs that have taken some action. Minor as it is updating 2 ports for free with Code Mystics rollback is a bigger step than those two. Also hinted in an interview that they were listening to fans on this one for the future.

In the end though it didn't do much for Garou of VSP's player bases in the long run. Much as people claim rollback makes games big it actually goes Marketing > Brand > Graphics > Content > Gameplay > Netcode

sf5 is the one I was always tempted to get into just because it's sf but I always hear bad shit about it
I don't really like the 3d thing of t7

Yes and no.
I can't help to get frustrated sometimes when I lose.

Frame data is something you only really care about when you want to when you want to scientifically figure out how to beat options or if a pressure idea you had in your head is valid
Never learn it in a vacuum or study it like it's for a test, just slowly learn more relevant frame data and let it influence your in-game decision making
Or, just play an old game where's it's 100% based on feel because no one bothered labbing out the options

>internet is terrible
>every match devolves into an unplayable mess
>too neet and anti-social to go to locals

SC6 is really fun. Better than SC2 imo. And I'm hoping they finally release the PC port of samsho soon, I really enjoyed it from what I played at my locals. Too bad my locals are dropping it and everybody's gonna be playing grabloo, which looks much less interesting as far as I'm concerned

Man where the fuck do you live that you have an arcade with fucking skullgirls or blazblue
