it's taking a while.
I'm making a staircase

One of my autistic weeb friends did this on the Xbox Edition of all things. He then realized he had dug too much Cobblestone and replaced every step and wall with plain Cobblestone blocks. He could've at least made Stone Bricks with it, but no. Thing looked hideous in the end.
Also, don't even attempt doing shit like this without an enchanted Diamond Pickaxe. What's wrong with you?
nice staircase friend, good luck :)
I wish there were TNT mods that allowed you control the direction they exploded.
It would be nice for strip mining.
Also, fuck Mojang and fuck Microsoft for mishandling Minecraft for so damn long.
Literally no creativity or new mechanics since I bought the game in 2013 for the first time.
has anyone ever actually dug all the way to bedrock before?
Use diamond tools
I tried mining an entire chunk all the way to the bottom but stopped at around Y level 49.
Shit just takes too long and I just have chests of stone next to the hole
It's piss easy with enchanted diamond tools and a beacon.
multiple times with multiple methods
gotta get that slime
HOW THE FUCK DO PEOPLE MAKE ROOFS
i mined a 64x64 area down to bedrock before as something to do while listening to podcasts and audiobooks. didn't even do anything with it, just ended up with a massive hole.
it's easy as shit, if you go mining for diamonds blindly on mines you are eventually going to hit bedrock
I'm pretty sure digging to bedrock isn't too hard. Isn't it right at level 0?
jesus, you act like they haven't been updating the game at all.
This hole is just going to be the entrance to a massive mine.
Sea level to bedrock is less than 60 blocks, it's not hard to just staircase down even with stone tools. Plenty of people strip mine for diamonds at y=11 and from there it's easy to follow a vein of coal or a lava pool to bedrock.
Minecraft is a lot taller than it is deep, it sucks that you can only find cool shit above sea level in Mesa biomes.
>in the middle of a desert
>fuck it
>pick a block
>dig straight down for no reason
>strike diamonds
strip mining is the only viable option after you deplete the easy to find caves.
the hard part is figuring out what to do with the giant pit
DON'T MAKE ME OPEN MY MINECRAFT AND DO IT AGAIN
Digging to bedrock is easy. With just an iron pick axe it can be a little time consuming but even then it shouldn't take an obnoxious amount of time unless you start at the top of a mountain
>Dig a large 5x5 tunnel in my dwarf fort
>Dig, place torches, and continue digging
>After hours and hours of digging, turn around
>Tunnel stretches to the edge of my view
>I suddenly realize the deafening silence as I stare at the large, seemingly endless tunnel
>Sense of extreme unease strikes me
>Close game
he was watching
yeah I had that feeling once when I just like autistically dug in my friends' server. made a huge underground network through caverns and shit and it was
just
really eerie when i'd look back at the endless stretch
>has anyone ever mined down 60 blocks
seriously nigga?
It's a myth.
no but i appreciate all the serious replies
Minecraft must be way fucking different now if that's something you even have to ask. But I don't even know what this enchanted diamond pickaxe shit is so I guess so.
I did this with stone and iron picks a few years back on a singleplayer world I had for a few months, it was really comfy doing it while listening to podcasts and stuff. Now I just play Tetris while listening to podscasts since I can't run minecraft on this shitty laptop
In 1.14 the meta was just scavenging shipwrecks and buried treasure until you had enough iron and diamonds to go straight to the Nether.
I genuinely have 8-10k hours in minecraft across multiple computers, modpacks, etc
So yes. I've dug into depths of autism you wouldn't believe.
>mfw feel proud for being the single guy that made an underground rail station from one side of the whole map to the other in a popular server back then
This the kind of zoomer who plays this shit now?
>pick a random community server
>enter and release my autism full fledge
>make massive (I'm talking huge) automatic farms for the players
>never say a word
>leave without warning and don't return until like a year later
>the farms are still there, the server still uses them
Who knows how many times I've done this. And that's just a tiny fraction of all the MC I've played. I've seriously consumed this game a disgusting amount. Or, it's consumed me. I don't know.
>zoomer
>coomer
Garbage humans like you constantly using those words really need to be fucking shot.
Mineycrafta
Im pretty new to MC as I ignored this game for years
How do I find more Iron, I never have enough, it seems to be the one resource you need huge amounts of specially since I just started making a railway connecting places
it's amazing how bad people are at minecraft
Strip-mine you idiot boy
>Build a hole in the ground
>Upgrade to a swanky stone house with an underwater observatory on an island
>Upgrade again to an island mountain lair with tasteful balconies and internal port
I don't know where to go from here. I'm like a dog that caught the car.
I prefer to mine a vertical 1x2 shaft with a water source at the top to swim up and down. Much fewer blocks, much faster and easier travel, since you can just fall down and sprint swim up.
connect places via rails in the Nether, you need less iron as the distance is less than in the overworld.
The next best thing is to inprison two villagers and force spawn iron golems and cause them to die via fall damage and steal their loot.
>I'm like a dog that caught the car.
what the actual fuck did he mean by this
Crossbows are underrated.
Get tipped arrows from a fletcher and recover them with piercing. You can put mending on it too.
If you want to make tons of rails, make a mini iron farm. You're going to need one anyways. They're super easy to make now.
dogs chase cars
but what the fuck do they expect to do if they actually catch the thing
It's amazing how no other game strikes fear in my heart like minecraft does, it truly encapsulates how loneliness feels
Dogs tend to chase cars in a fruitless pursuit.
He is saying that he caught the car, and completed the fruitless pursuit.
Or cut out the Fletcher, throw Multishot on it and stop firing fucking arrows from a fucking crossbow because you can load fireworks if you hold them in your off-hand.
youtube.com
just do this for rails. he has a version for 1.15 too
I used stairs back in the day, with blocks underneath
Outstanding bait, my friend. Just look at the (you)s you've got!
i thought the joke would be obvious :(
really made me think
Tekkit used to have these things called 'turtles'. They were programmable helpers who would go out and do things automatically for you.
I made them build me a fortress and dig straight around my 'fort' on a server with them enabled all the way down to bedrock for a ways in each direction. With a few buckets of lava later, I had Ganon's castle.
>whole thing was lost like six months later when an update to the server corrupted the save file and I never found the motivation to start all over again
>turtles
BASED AND CODEPILLED
*EEEEEEEeeeeeeee*
It was, and the fact you got this many serious replies is hilarious and slightly distressing
Thanks for the laughs man.
>Minecraft is a lot taller than it is deep
Yeah pretty much. The game was initially made with a 128 height limit but when they updated it to be 256, they didn't change world gen at all for it. Mountains didn't even go all the way up to 128 to begin with.
I suppose some of the new biomes might go higher but I haven't played in years so I wouldn't know.
Fireworks need gunpowder. I'd rather use them on actual rockets for flying. Making firework stars is expensive and if you want the good ones you need to use multiple for max damage. And fire charges to make them big. I'd rather spend a few emerald and get a stack of tipped arrows that lasts for a super long time.
haha yeah, you dug it pretty well user
not that i saw it or anything
Its the only way I play. I make a square hole with a factor of 8. Then I dig a cork screw staircase down till I hit bedrock. It leaves a massive pillar that I then dig out layer by layer until there is a massive hollow pit. I then use all the materials I collected to build a straight sold wall 8 blocks high as long as I can. When i'm done I start a new world.
takes to long to find
your work is appreciated user
