I like Slap city.
Wish I could get it to work right in Wine. It's a solid game, and I want to get more in to it.
For now though, Rivals is my game of choice.
rivals and slap are good. roof rage looks kinda memey
>Goat's Schoolgirl outfit is going to be in Definitive
Dan needs to be careful. He doesn't want to tease those people.
It's amazing how Slap City is the only smash rip-off that doesn't have completely soulless characters, especially considering they all came from indie games barely anyone has played.
rivals of aether has soul
Nigga nobody likes Rivals, is your game on sale or why are you shilling?
Slap is really interesting because it looks cheap but it plays so fucking good.
It was fun while it lasted
I'm glad that Slap got it's 5 minutes of fame, but I wish it was more popular still
and that they where still adding characters so Jenny Lemon or a Psycard twink could get in
???
The game's technically not finished yet. It should get more attention once it's properly released, as well as ported to other consoles other than PC.
I've heard that the game doing well ended up saving Ludosity, so it's already done its job, which I'm happy for. Ludosity has great vibes.
Like 2/3rds of those players are just goofing around with the workshop mode
no reason to reply to people who unironically believe everyone who likes games they dont like is a shill. hes just going to try and bait you with more stupid shit now
So it's roughly 390 people not having fun right now, what's your point?
I'm actually making on weight now that is going to be Mugen for Platform Fighters. Way more customizable than Rivals and supports 3D graphics.
One right now*
Fucking auto correct.
It's still kind of surreal to think that there are actual Workshop tournaments, and that they're fun to watch. The event at Frostbite was great, even if there were a few too many Zetta Ashikaga's running around.
Don't sprites tend to be easier to work with? Needing 3D models might turn people away
The Ittle Dew games are amazing btw
Ittle Dew 2 had the deepest secret content I've ever seen in a game
bow to the king
>clickteam
dead on arrival
I plan on having sprites as an option. They will show up as flat sprites on the 3D plane. And stages that are 2D will have 3D characters show up like Game and Watch. I have been beta testing that here.
Gringo Power was a cunt who's behavior hurt the threads longevity, though really they would have died when ultimate dropped anyway.
Slap city should be where smash ultimate is now and it's a shame that it's already dead instead
Neat, I'm guessing you're in the alpha stages?
You're planning on just making an engine that other people can develop in to their own game later? Or do you want to create Smash Bros SaltyBet?
more like the cringe king
I didnt really like ittle dew 2 nearly as much as 1
god i love that stage, nothing has quite the same novelty as just bouncing everywhere
To say it's Clickteam Fusion is not entirely accurate. It's like 90% LUA scripting.
Smash Bros SaltyBet.
Ittle Dew 1 had better puzzles for the most part, but 2 was so much more fleshed out
Rivals is fun for the workshop stuff
You should work fast before someone actually makes Rivals SaltyBet. Right now it's just a joke, but there's always someone who'll do something crazy.
jenny best girl
> everyone who likes a game you don't is shilling
Slap city stages were amazing
Space Planet Earth was pretty cool, wish Smash had a stage with similar slopes
>smashclone thread
>turn into a ludosity shill thread
Every fucking time
Nobody on Yas Forums players rivals and none of the other smash clones are any good
They were all good but hurtland is by far the best
Neither they play Slap City.
Ittle Dew was really really good too, and I normally HATE pushblock puzzle games. I didn't even like Baba Is You because of how hard it leaned on pushblock mechanics. Wish more people played Ittle Dew here, I've made threads on it and they always 404 within 15 posts.
> smashclone
They're called platform fighters.
I play Rivals, but making a thread about it alone just results in the topic tanking unless it's about the workshop, or it's spiked with furry bait, which Rivals doesn't really have outside of the April fool's joke.
I think Rivals is a really good game, but it's greatest weakness, it's lack of star power, kills it here. Most people here only talk about Smash because of characters.
And a lot of people who would care about it dismiss it because they don't see platform fighters as "real fighting games". It's kind of sad.
I miss playing Slap City with Yas Forums, but I'm scared to try online now in case it's all tryhard 1v1 with good players. I just want to mash buttons in FFA
>they all came from indie games barely anyone has played.
That's probably why they're soulful. Their sources may be obscure, but their appearance in Slap City piques interest in their home game for people who don't know them and are incredibly hype to those who do recognize them. I was pscyhed for GoE since I had played Hyper Princess Pitch years beforehand and I remember a lot of people asking for Iji.
Then if a person in question decides they're interested in the game, they can easily get filtered by jumping online and getting kicked around like a Sandbag. There's a bunch of barriers to entry in Rivals, and it's kind of remarkable that it has such a steady fanbase. I rack that up to high level matches being really fun to watch. You can really see people's individual play style come through when they're playing, and some of the stuff players pull of is a spectacle to watch on their own.
And the thing is, it's still miles easier to get into for the first time than Melee, its closest relative. There's so many small quality of life things in any given moment of gameplay it's crazy, and that's aside from the EXTENSIVE in-game tutorials and genuinely supportive, centralized, official online community.
new characters are going to happen after the last story modes finish up
rivals and slap both have 10/10 soundtracks
I liked Brawlhalla while it lasted.
Movesets not being fully tied to characters was neat. They kinda went overboard with the cosmetics and shit last I played though.
ID1 had some crazy puzzles. Some of the ones in the master cave and that other optional dungeon took me hours to figure out.
They did a good job of making puzzle that make you question whether they're even possible to complete.
>Them's Fightin' Herds that high up
YEE and I cant stress this enough HAW!!
>while it lasted
Nigga brawlhalla unironically has more prize pool money than any other fighting game. Not even kidding.
Brawlhalla is so E-Sports that enthusiast types don't even know about it, it's not on their radar at all.
I know I was floored when I first heard of how much cash Brawlhalla prize pools had, no one here talks about the game. I guess there really was a reason why Ubisoft bought that game.
This is correct.
It honestly is kinda crazy. For all of its flaws, it has one of the most loving dev teams behind it. They're 100% behind the competitive community too. I think that's where a lot of the success comes from. It's genuinely wholesome to see.
Wow, I played pretty early on for a while and it seemed like it kinda tapered off when I stopped.
Unironically glad it blew up that big. May have to re-install it and see whats up.
I love that she got a sundress for her new costume. She's adorable in it.
