Disappointment of the decade.
Why did they retcon Shinra to be the one dimensional bad guys with the bomb instead of making Avalanche the ambigous bad guys like the original?
Agreed. The demo was incredible.
What makes you think Shinra are the bad guys? They were the largest contributors to Avalanche's success.
>The demo was incredible.
If only all modern JRPGs looked that good.
not sure how I feel about the combat system
in the heat of battle it felt clunky and unintuitive
maybe I need more time with it and to take a second to understand the mechanics but from the first pass of the demo it felt like a mess
too visually busy, camera didnt feel quite right, framerate was ass
i think it needs a bit more time in the oven and it really could truly be great
shit cover art
>maybe I need more time with it
most likely because that's how I felt at first, but after a few playthroughs it ended up feeling really great
So many good contesters for GOTY this year, jesus
Cyberpunk, last of us 2, HL alyx, Remake 3, Doom eternal, NIOH 2, FF7remake
am i missing something else?
Persona 5 Royal
*century
Ori
Mount and blade II
holy fucking shit my fucking DICK
Holy fuck that looks terrible. Definition of soulless
Even with the quality of life changes, it becomes very obvious that you are doing all the same shit you did before, with none of the credit.
go be a doomie retard somewhere else
Tried the demo. Was whelmed.
Nothing groundbreaking. Combat was clunky. Very pretty graphics though.
>Combat was clunky
Play it more because it's not clunky at all.
its not a retcon but i still dont the change (or the add rather)
>not yuffie
It's not a retcon, the bomb not being made to blow the entire reactor was in the original game. They just never added to it because 7 was very rushed.
you're right, not yuffie
This.
First playthough I figured it was just me needing more time to adapt to a new system. But after going through it a couple of times, yeah it's just wonky. Not difficult, just clunky.
The fov is too tight, the UI is too small for a turn based and the controls are too sloppy for an action game. It tries to be both and falls somewhere in the middle, failing to be excel at either.
Has the makings of something amazing, but compromised too much to pander to both camps.
Hope I can learn to like it. Felt awkward as fuck to play though.
>for an action game
Cloud also has a few wigged out Sephiroth flashbacks in the the cut content. The Midgar section has the most cut content out of the entire game.
Do you think there will be a steam version?
I'm not a concole cuck so I literally can't play it.
>failing to be excel at either
Except it doesn't. The focus on combat is supposed to be the ATB abilities. It's not a fucking action game where you can win by just spamming square. People who say this obviously have only play the demo once or twice.
1 year PS4 exclusive, so yeah, PC in 2021.
You just need to play it more because it does end up feeling amazing the more you play. Watch video of Scorpion being beaten in 2.5 minutes.
>I'm not cuck
>Can I have your sloppy seconds console players?
Lol
90's babies will love this
t. spammed square and got filtered
Yeah but it has dodge, block, reload on Barret, so it tries to emulate an action game in downtime between ATB bars.
Dodge has no i-frames as far as I could tell, so it's more like a dash really. Movement is laggy, framerate was okay but not great. Yeah it's not a proper action game like nier or dmc, but that just makes it feel like ass coming from those games.
You should see snoybois portbegging for Switch games
>CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY NMH3 AND DP2 ON MY PISS4, YAS QUEEN!!!!!
Games are not girls lol. They literally stay fresh forever.
it's a very shitty episodic DMC clone
The performance is great, the fuck are you on about?
Halo Infinite
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
It is episodic, so by the time you can play the whole game on PS4 will be about the 2021 PC release date.
you can fill ATB so fast that you can literally string abilities via shortcuts
I beat the boss without once opening the command menu because you can bind so much to the shortcuts
shit bait
do you think we will hear the main theme of final fantasy (ff main theme, not ff7 main theme) in the middle of the credits?
or they should save it for the last part
IIRC, that always plays at the end of the credits.
Nier's combat has great animations but it awfully boring as dodge is overpowered as fuck, and you can just spam attacks non-stop. The good thing about this is spamming attacks without using tactics doesn't work.
yes thats what im saying
in the og you hear it during the credits
obviously every part will have credits and shit but i wonder if they are gonna use the main theme in every part
>DMC
feels good not being a retard who can appreciate the balance the game goes for
truth
BUT ME WANT MUH DEE EM SEA
Seriously they even said at E3 that it's not meant to be played like DMC. It's a hybrid and it plays in it's own unique way.
Jessie even flat-out states in the original that she followed a guide on her computer to build it and the explosion was way bigger than it should've been.
This. You can't please these retards no matter what
>I want flashy dmc combat!!
>LOL LOOK AT THIS ONE BUTTON TO WIN COMBAT LIKE DMC
>mfw there's going to be a sidequest where you have dinner with Jessie's parents.
most based comment itt
Yes, why would I want to be able to play this with all the graphical settings cranked to max, in 4K/60fps?
I've got a PS4 Pro as well, but I would much rather be playing this on PC.
>be me
>sweeper fight
>gather two atb bars and one with cloud
>thunder into pressured
>do a combo of focus thrust and focused shot
>instant stagger
>go apeshit as cloud in punisher mod and finish it with a braver
Feels fucking good. Still laughing at faggots spamming square.
I found the Sweepers so fun to fight. It's like a mini-scorption. I shit myself the first time they fuck knocked Cloud over and stood on him with one foot, keeping him down. Looked cool.
I love watching people reacting to the "get help" line.
Here's the black pill: remakes of any form for any medium are unnecessary and by their nature cannot surpass the original in any way. A copy cannot be more original than that which was the origin of the copy, it is circuitous and nonsensical. Art cannot age, film, literature, video games, they cannot age, and therefore do not benefit from being remade. A reluctant exception to this is a remake that endeavors to redefine the original in new terms and in that becomes something altogether original unto itself. An perfect example and microcosm of this phenomenon is the relationship between The Thing From Another World (1951), The Thing (1982), and The Thing (2011). The second is a semi-remake sequel to the first, in that through the artistic vision of those involved it transcends play acting and homage and becomes a work original in its own right. The latter is a semi prequel-remake of the second, and is so caught up in its slave-like and puerile devotion to the original that it becomes something utterly worthless. The remake of Final Fantasy VII is The Thing (2011). It will, without shame, borrow, employ, and manipulate the imagery and music of the original without any attempt to do anything new. What is new will only be added to pad and prolong, to create more platforms for making money instead of telling a story. The corpse of the work it is parroting will be propped up and connected to strings and made to dance, like a body reanimated by unnatural forces, like a thing from another world.
You cannot refute this.
it wasnt funny for me but im glad people like it
I laughed more with I MEANT YOUR AGE, NOT YOUR GODDAMN RANK
or the face jessie puts when barret is giving his speech
