Granblue Versus

Firstly you gotta relax. Thinking calmly is more important than trying to press a button first. You look new to the genre so I recommend focusing more on defense before worrying about offense.

Second, I know it's tempting to throw out your EX attacks first, but starting with them makes you vulnerable especially if you don't know proper defense. With gran especially, take thinks slower and throw the light fireball instead of always opting for EX.

Once you get a feel for the game, learn your character's buttons and the proper situations to press them. Things like what links into what.

i know shortcuts scale differently but the box player is definitely using them right

DPs really need more recovery time across the board. Gran and Narmaya are especially offenders of this. Also at first I thought the netcoding was okay, but now I'm seeing why people hate it so much. The delay is really obnoxious and it also eats a lot of inputs. At first glance it seems fine, but it makes a huge difference when trying to get out of pressure, punish properly, and just guard. It makes rushdown hands down the best way to play and rushdown characters online are incredibly fraudulent in this kind of netcoding. Good luck ever punishing anything Charlotta does.

You can tell whether they do the shortcut or not because the "Good!" pop-up appears on their side if they did the full input.

The game was definitely rushed out the door for Evo. The bonuses for the gacha the game came with are so generous to try to give incentive for non fighting gamers to buy the game and help fund its lasting development. That being said, I would definitely call the DLC practices so far scummy.

its one button + a direction for using shortcuts with a 2-3 second cooldown or you can just use the normal input and get basically no cooldown

DLC practices in most fighting games in general are scummy, most fighting games in the past 5 years have years of development under their belt but still have half the roster locked behind a DLC pay-wall.
The only fighting game I would forgive for post-normalization of this shit practice is Smash since it was a rushed project and has to pass IP deals before adding 'x' character in the game.

Just like Guilty Gear Xrd it came back from the dead with the last iteration being 5 years old. During that time its popularity dwindled and isnt the big title it used to be.

Someone mentioned this last thread, but the races in Granblue really does remind me a bit of the FFXIV races - except GB tried to make most races attractive/appealing rather than dropping some into uncanny valley.
