Halo was the cawadoody of my generation. We made fun of everyone who played it.
We just thought 3D on home consoles wasn't very impressive. We wanted good gameplay, not gimmicks. We were pissed off because game companies were enacting strict no-2D policies on major titles and reviewers were trashing any new game that wasn't 3D, when we just wanted good games. We wanted a mix of both, not the hard lean towards 3D just for the sake of being a techdemo.
