Let us assume that division is left-associative, as it is normally done if you're writing expressions in a linear form. That is, if we have an expression "a / b / c", it means "(a / b) / c". Same can be said of multiplication. Therefore "8 / 2 * (2 + 2)" is equal to "(8 / 2) * (2 + 2)", which is ovciously 16.
If, however, you assume division to be right-associative, the answer would be 1.
