I haven't played Dark Souls 3 but I really doubt that game can be worse than Dark Souls 2.
Most players knew that something went wrong with DS2 by the time they entered the tutorial area; in the previous game the training was in the atmospheric Undead Asylum but now the players had to learn the basic controls of the game in fucking poorly made hollow trees.
Absolutely unreal.

2 was alright in concept and could have been pretty good but it was horribly made and just shat out
they were pretty creatively bankrupt by the time they made 3 though so it was pretty shit in that regard but the gameplay was at least pretty solid and it was fun to play. It was more like bloodborne: dark souls edition

I'm playing Bloodborne right mow and I was disappointed by the absence of a real tutorial area.

PtD runs just fine and controls just fine with a controller. Remaster if you want to play online.

Don't give up on BB. I played it after 3 and dropped it for a while, it turns out pretty good, great DLC. I think 3 has better bosses/gameplay though

Locking on in the old games was always pointless to me. The bosses are so slow that i pretty much did what this guy did with Fume and i never had a problem

I mean it's just my subjective opinion but yeah, early on in 3 I was like "yes, this is dark souls".
Some games have a bad start but they "click" after a few hours. 2 never clicked. I don't hate it but I never loved it.

2 was far more disappointing because it never lived up to the hype it had before launch.

2 is more disappointing because the difference between that and Ds1 is massive.
3 is worse than 2 but only by a bit, the bar was already set pretty low.

I can almost guarantee you'll want to play it again, just like DS there's so much shit to miss. Honestly my only issue with it was chalice dungeons and of course PS4 (although it ran fine on pro)

it has the most boring bosses in the series. literally assets from bloodborne bosses and large sweeping arcs for the entire boss roster.

All the unique weapons from them are greatswords too.

3 is most certainly a good game and far better than 2, but ls definitely not a masterpiece. The second half of 1 is grossly exagerrated.

Currently replaying the trilogy back 2 back, at Das2 now. It's far more tedious, otherwise gameplay/balance is solid.

Das1 runs out of steam shortly after Anor Londo, late game bosses bring nothing to the table (not to mention 3 times Asylum Demon reskin...)

It took Bloodborne, and dumbed it down. Then it took Dark Souls, and half assed it. We're left with a game that is not as fun as Bloodborne, and isn't as deep or interesting as Dark Souls 1. It had good presentation, but it's soulless.

Dark Souls 2 is quite simply just Dark Souls 1, but with a quantity over quality design. It has horrible presentation, but has it's own charm that grows on you.

If you're only getting into the series now, then just play the newer games. You prpbably won't enjoy the older games if you're new to the series.
