For me it's the pure kino, GT4. 2nd best opening after GT5, which is just classy as fuck. Gran Turismo has such a nice soundtrack. I loved taking my cars to the car wash. GT PSP is also really good, it's like Pokemon for cars. Gotta collect 'em all.

Actually growing up on forza and now recently buying forza motorsport 4 on xbox I just played it for like 5 hours and stopped and went back to gran turismo.

800 cars is pointless when you get spammed with cars for doing absolutely anything and you dont earn shit.
GT has you earn your cars and work for it. You lose races, get ready to grind.
GT is a series that wants you to become a better driver.

gran turismo is cool and all but the ai is too passive.
i prefer pro race driver/grid series, the ai tries to simulate real racers in those games, like trying to ram you and each other out of the track or committing mistakes themselves.

I discarded the cars I got from liscence fees as its much cooler to just use a shitty gen1 crx to earn your way up.

Meanwhile in forza you can keep using your car but after 2 races you have enough money to v16 awd swap a fucking vw rabbit and win every race.
Meanwhile at end of a series in GT you're rich enough to get new tyres.

you're basically saying you value meaningless numbers and checkmarks popping up on a screen to make you feel that the time you spent hasn't been wasted rather than actually driving and getting acquainted with cars from various regions around the world. if Gran Turismo wanted to make you a better driver they wouldn't fill their games up with mostly jap cars and copies of them. driving the same car over and over won't make you a better driver, driving a variety of cars and being acquainted with their various dynamics does and Forza encourages that which is why they want you to drive everything as soon as possible. this is on top of the fact that Forza gives you far more freedom to tackle races where as gran turismo stifles that freedom and creativity but limiting what you can upgrade and not even allowing you to touch specific parts of the engine.

I learned to appreciate so many more cars than what is found in Initial D and the Fast and the Furious. most gran turismo players likely won't even know who pic related is.

GT5 will always be my favorite of the series because it was the last to mix the old with the new. People often seem to forget that the non-premium cars existed to keep the series with its signature massive car list full of every trim under the sun along with really crazy concepts, something that is literally impossible to do if you try to model all the cars the way a premium car is modeled. Forza was able to work its way up to something like 600 fully modeled cars which is amazing but it took multiple dlc passes to make it happen.

gt has driving schools and its entire handling model is arcadey overblown real life tyre grip and car weight shift effects. If you nail a corner, brake, turn accelarate perfectly it is silky smooth and feels good.

Also everything isn't handed to you on a silver platter. A car is earned in gran turismo, in forza you get it for blowing past C class ai in your s2 awd v12 swapped mini.

If you aint tracked or driven in real life you don't understand what gran turismo tries to do. It's head designer races a lot and has custom built worlds lightest s2000, and it fucking shows.

Forza feels like a hollow shell.

Again grew up on forza games and didn't play gran turismo 4 until after fh4 was launched.
Only nocar busrider notrack shitter would think forza is a better game for drivers.

Gran Turismo is for actual motorsport enthusiasts unlike Forza.

None of the shit in Gran Turismo is even close to real life and no one would take you seriously if you said your only driving experience was in gran turismo. you can't even use high performance index cars in lower classes in forza so you've likely haven't even played the game.

It's really hit or miss for me. Progressing through the D and C driver ranked lobbies was mostly clean racing with all the shitters falling way behind. In the B ranked lobbies I only get a clean race if the top five can break away quickly otherwise you're just dragged down with the rammers.
That said I'm getting into the FIA races and they seem much better so far. Just need to stop using >Ferrari tier pit strats and put in some full race practises.
