Post a worse mandatory minigame in a videogame. Protip : You can't
a game's quality is exactly equivalent to the quality of it's fishing minigame; if a game has bad fishing, then it's a bad game.
>snaps your line
Nothin personel kiddo
Okay joystiq
Looks familiar but I can't place it.
FF14 has a huge fishing catalogue and everything requires different bait or lures, time of day, weather conditions, and habitats. Some can only be caught in sequence by using your previous catch as bait.
The fishing is nice but I'd still say the game itself is pretty bad.
It's Nier.
Not mandatory but still.
Nier, most likely OP is fishing in the wrong spot for a shaman fish and will spend 10 minutes struggling only to get a bream
Just spam bribe, ez friends.
That fucking race you have to do in Chrono Trigger when you get to the future
Planet scanning in ME2
it really is sad how useless speechcraft is in pretty much ANY tes game.
This shit still makes me mad, it's so unresponsive.
No contest
Does this count?
holy fuck I remember this part of the game prevented me from replaying it so many times.
I kinda liked these, but it dragged on for too long just to get one fucking magatama.
At least the music was great, though not unique to the minigame.
I beat this entire game and watched a playthrough of it but I still don't truly believe it's real
>mandatory gear and equipment wipe
>happens 5 times throughout the campaign
fuck Crying Suns
reminder that you are fishing in the wrong spot and that's why you can't seem to finish that quest, you fucking brainlet
I'm in the wrong thread
Mahjong tournament in Sleeping Dogs, which you have to fucking win.
Hope you know how to play Mahjong lol
>mandatory
I beat that game twice and never knew mahjong was even in it
The best part is that the rules are made up
Try the crafting system in ffxiv
Never noped out of a game so fast
I didn't know Sleeping Dogs had mahjong, I always had to play Yakuza to get my fix.
Even though that is absolute pain, it’s not mandatory. You only have to do it if you want all the magatama and want to do the optional dungeon and bosses.
But I feel you, “optional” pretty much means mandatory for me in jrpgs, I hate missing content.
Final fantasy X lightning dodging.
>Filtered by the crafting system
But it was great, at least until you figured out how to automate your crafts. And then they bollocked it all and made it piss easy for retards to craft things.
>mandatory
Jade Empire's SHMUP sections.
move the stick in the direction Nier leans
thats the whole game
Most minigames in Sly 3 are pretty shit
Your precious mmo is a circus and you both are grade a clowns
Are you okay?
I already said it's a shit MMO, don't be offended because we think you're fucking stupid. There are lots of successful stupid people in this world.
seek mental help asap
blitzball is worse
Blitzball's only bad in the tournament because you're expected to win with the absolutely garbage team they give you.
Once you level a bit and get some better players, it's much better.
border jump in superstar saga is just trial and error and I hate it
>failing multiple times makes nier fish for two entire days straight to get a single fish
>have to either have inhuman button mashing skills, or deliberately almost lose to be able to win
>oh cool, a neat break from adventuring-
>it's the trashest possible kind of shumps
Even 1945 tutorial in Game Maker 7.0 wasn't as bad as this
took me about 10 years to beat this
this fucking piece of shit
good thing someone made that solver
I can never do those Tower of Hanoi puzzles. As a kid the one in KotoR had me stuck for hours.
user... that's the kind of "puzzle" they give to infants
It wasn't that bad.
This was that bad though.
These are just time wasters and should be illegal.
To this day I look back and consider that one of the most bizarre design decisions I've seen in a video game. Literally what were they thinking?
Not useless in Morrowind. Saves you a lot of trouble during quests.
It was okay, I don't really get the hate. Once you figured it out it was very quick. Or just spam bribe lol, or better yet just cast charm
Don't mind me, just stopping the game dead with terrible controls and being a story mission.
>mandatory
What the fuck is this, I don't remember it at all
Bro I understood that one perfectly. It was the math questions I didn't get because of the * and /
the reason this is bad isn't because it's hard, it's because it's programmed so that you have to almost lose, and once you do it triggers the AI to start losing
I wish Jade Empire was more fun in general.
man there's like a 9 year gap in my education what the fuck are you doing with your brain
Fishing in nier is fine most people just get filtered because they’re in the wrong spot like retards.
I was at that age where we still used x and ÷ cut me some slack
Is there any indication of being in the right spot?
That's the weird thing about FFXIV, it's a garbage MMORPG but all the fluff and side content are fucking great and I would LOVE to have that kind of fluff in MMORPGs that are actually good
It's not fair
Yes a giant red map marker
