How excited are you?

yes.
I'm a little peeved they got rid of the save system but I'll have to play to see if it's a downgrade or not.
Who cares, it was mediocre at best.
finally i have something to play
>kino is back on the menu, boys!
Sounds like you're still mad about the rising water level.
Pretty damn excited. Don't expect it to beat Rain World or Hollow Knight or anything but I remember having fun with the first one and the game looks beautiful. The exploration and secret finding was a little lacking in the first one so hopefully bringing in the AM2R guy pays off.
God I want it now. I'm more interested in this than doom.
>who cares
why do people say this when there is blatant evidence that people care in the discussion they're in
Ori > New PKMN MD game
Silksong will be better
I'm looking forward to it and I'm glad it's coming before Silksong because Ori 2 would be irrelevant otherwise.
Pretty excited.
i'm hyped as all fucks, although I have some concerns
I honestly hope they have not hollowknighted the experience with stupid broken hitbox combat
I honestly hope they have not downtuned the platforming for the normie crowd
there is too much muh action and not enough hard platforming crowd
>Hurrdurr let's make a metroidvania where 80% of the areas look the same and also some dumb soulshit for no reason
Hollowknight was shit.
First one was a solid 4/10 I'll pass on this one.
Metroidvania isn't a real genre.
Pretty confident it'll be GOTY though I hope they didn't fall for the combat meme too hard, the lack of soul link is the only thing that makes me unhappy about the game thus far
I do that face unironically.
>First one was a solid 4/10 I'll pass on this one.
this desu
I want both my nigger.
Give me a release date already
I bought on steam. Just waiting. I didn't buy deluxe edition of first game cuz I felt ripped off and I didn't want 2 of the same game in my library. Hopefully they won't do it this time...
yes I am.
Can't wait.
Give it to me nooowwww.
I never played the first one and never will. All these "artsy" """""""metroidvanias"""""" are always hot garbage.
Don't respond to hktroll bait.
The game play alone makes it a 6/10 to me, the game is top of its genre in handling. The character is fast and has plenty of abilities to move around the maps. The combat is the main Achilles heel, especially after you encounter the enemies with the most HP that force you stop in place (or jump around but then it becomes harder to gain skill points)
>Metroidvania isn't a real genre.
sure it is.
>Ori and the bland forest fag on the defensive
>Metroidvania isn't a real genre.
Sure, but "Semi-Nonlinear Exploration Based Platformer With An Emphasis On Backtracking And Upgrades" is a fucking mouthful
You cunt
I just recently played Ori on Switch. I thought it was alright at best, right until you get the bounce-off-projectiles powerup and that one mechanic saves the entire game, god it was fun to use. So I ended up liking it, although it had a few flaws holding it back, like the pretty lame combat.
The new one seems to fix every single one of those flaws while also adding a bunch of new shit and being a much bigger game in general, so yes I'm really hyped.
Also, what's with all the falseflaggers trying to start some dumb rivalry between Ori fans and Hollow Knight fans? As if it's impossible to enjoy both and be hyped for both games' sequels.
Lack of combat is not a flaw. Platformers don't need action pushed into them because it mostly just makes them way worse games and you get retarded shit like jaxdaxter series.
Is there any reason I shouldn't just pay a buck to rent this for a month? Any one else use PC Game Pass? I can just buy it on a Steam sale later on for a replay and still never have paid full price despite playing release day.
Some people wills creech at you.
Personally I bought it on winstore with reward points and the CE for xb1.
The problem with Ori was that there IS combat, enemies to fight. The problem is that combat consists nearly entirely of mash X to win, so the large amount of new weapons in the sequel is a good addition.
It's a buck for THREE months, not one. The one and only drawback is that you need to have windows 10 installed on your PC, but there's really no reason not to get gamepass if you have already gone down that rabbit hole. I have literally never paid more than 1 dollar a month for it since it was launched, it seems it's always either 1 dollar per month or 1 dollar for 3 months.
How do you get it for a buck a month after that? It looks like the renew price after 3 months is $5 a month
>nooo I need combat in my videogamerino
yes
Nowhere in his post did he imply that he wants combat in the game, only that the combat that is already in the game is bad. Ori would be a much better game without the combat segments.
You'll need to check if there's any deals for gamepass ultimate (includes gold and gamepass for xbone and PC) on the xbox website. There's no rule for this, but so far it seems that whenever PC gamepass isn't being sold at 1 buck/month, that one is. You can also just make a new account, since the 1 dollar first time sub is a permanent deal.
grapling hook looks really fun to use
Hollow Knight is just better in every aspect though.
Literal based boy
>The problem is that combat consists nearly entirely of mash X to win
It's mostly on you if that's all you did throughout the entirety of the game when you had far better options available. The basic bitch autoaim attack is not your main damage dealer past the very start, it's meant to be supplementary. The real problem with Ori's combat is a lack of more enemy types or just antying that would teach you to use different attacks, you can just inefficiently buttonmash your way through 99% of the game and never get roadblocked for it. That's made worse by how saving is tied to energy, so players are further discouraged from using certain abilities. They just needed to do a better job at encouraging players to be proactive and utilize their full moveset, and the sequel seems to be rectifying that somewhat alongside all the other improvements.
>Worse animation
>Worse visuals in general
>Story is shitty MUH LORE garbage
>Almost all the areas look the same
>Stupid Souls system for no reason
>Almost no significant reward for half the content
>Platforming is trash
>Bloated as fuck map
No.
look, we get it. a new game is coming out soon. there's no need to make a thread about it every day leading up to release.
you know, it's funny, because every time a new game is coming out threads are being made about it non-stop, but then once it finally comes out - nothing. fucking nothing until it only ends up being mentioned on christmas threads when people want to get some recommendations for games. why are you like this, Yas Forums? what's the matter with you?
I never finished the first one
> but then once it finally comes out - nothing
Why would I be here talking about it when I can finally play it?
>Hkfags calling ori bland
Literally what?
i know that it's hard to tell with all the shitposting, but this is actually a board for discussing video games. so ideally, people would want to talk about the game once it comes out and, you know, discuss it.
>but this is actually a board for discussing video games
Do you have a single fact to back that up?
can i finish ori 1 before ori 2 releases as a college student with a midterm pulling up?
It's like a 6-8 hour game at most if you play at a reasonable pace
>NOOOOOOOOO THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A SMASH OR OFFTOPIC THREAD
If you start now, probably.
>Yas Forums - Video Games
why is this always the argument you cunts come up with? how is it fine to spam the same thread every day as long as it isn't smash?
because its still better than half the shit on this board
>no talking about video games on a video game board
And? What does this even mean? Mediocre isn't bad.
