Can we have a DOS2 thread? I somehow slept past this game when it first released but I was now inspired to try it out after the BG3 reveal and I'm actually surprised how much I'm liking it... Still in Fort Joy but I'm kind of amazed by the sheer amount of ways to escape from it.

>the sheer amount of ways to escape from it
That's a good example of poor design, though. The idea itself is great, and the variety it adds in theory is excellent, but what it usually ends up being is people returning to the camp and going through each of the routes anyway so that they won't miss all the XP and story bits associated with each.
Yeah, they should've made it so that the only XP you get is when you first exit fort joy and you only get it once.
This, game is actually pretty shit, linear and filled with wildly unimmersive shit like this.
D:OS2 without the armor system would be my favorite video game which is why I look forward to BG3
You can use the mod for it on the workshop
>Deliberately choose to do something that makes little sense
>"Unimmersive!"
Ok kid
Should I play on classic or tactician? Never played these games and my experience with turn-based RPGs is limited to the first two Fallouts.
>sheer amount
I mean, there's only 4
>jail
>docks
>fall from height
>front entrance (the patrician option)
Would dagger+archer lone wolf combination work in honour mode?
yeah but the warrior is absurdly overpowered compared to these
is there a mod that removes the puddle system?
I don't like how integral it is to the gameplay
played this, wandered around a town for what felt like hours, listened to some dialogue that made me cringe, listened to some dialogue that made me smirk, turned it off
classic.
Tactician is not unbeatable by any means but its probably gonna feel real unimmersive on your first playthrough since the easiest way to beat it is to cheese a lot of stuff (which is ok, thats kind of how youre supposed to play this game, but on your first playthrough i dont recommend it)
Also, dont take Fane on your first playthrough (and dont take ifan at all since hes boring)
>Saying cringe unironically
Yeah thinking man's games aren't for you
>reach the final boss
>that incredible music
>ruined with the second phase
why the fuck did they have to ruin it with the big bad from the first game
>the puddle system
What do you mean?
Is there a mod that allows you to switch which "main" character you are throughout the game? Or some way to see and control the other characters side plots (I.e. Speaking to the dreamer as the red prince rather than just having him nap and then tell you about it)
>Also, dont take Fane on your first playthrough
Do you mean not taking him into my party or not picking him as my character?
both DESU, hes a walking spoiler and as a companion hes bad enaugh, tolerable tho , playing him on your first playthrough is definitly a bad idea if you care about the story at all
unless you go 4 player COOP and want one player knowing more than the others
This is my first time playing one of these games, is combat usually this slow?
Don't you just press L2?
I wasn't using cringe as an adjective, I turned the volume down because I cringed you zoomer fuck

Consider using this mod. It increases your movement speed in combat and/or out of combat but doesn't alter the AP costs or anything so it's purely just the speed increase. You can customize it however you wish too.
you also need this if you care about achievements nexusmods.com
is this game tolerable solo? if not does anyone want to party up I will let you have the good loots
Has anyone played the original Divinity games? Are they any good?
You're all plebs and you all gave up before even reaching second island
t. A guy who actually beat the game several times
you havent played the game truly unless you killed adrahmaliik in tacticians mode without extinguishing the candles.
>Also, dont take Fane on your first playthrough
oh ffs, is the one i'm interested the most
Which ones are the exits?
just kill the traitor who will turn on everyone before its his turn and the second phase wont happen.
But that's ez with a lonewolf necro build
You haven't played it since they updated it have you? They nerfed the XP gain like crazy. Now you have to scrounge out every single drop of XP or you'll end up under-levelled.
Not that user, but I think getting to experience all the lore Fane brings to the game is something one should experience after at least one playthrough, that being said, it's totally fine if you want to play with/as him right away. It just won't be that impactful.
what the other user said, its not ruining the game for you, but its certainly not mean to be done in the first playthrough.
You power creep so hard in Arx that it's not even an issue. Just buttfuck his pussy before he turns into a demon.
or just using Mindmaggot granades desu.
The fun comes from not playing a meme build tho.
or playing a realy stupid build like a dagger tank
Friend and i finishd tactician with a sword and board warfare / polymorph / utility tank, wand and shield summoner, Do everything Wizard slut and Necro / warfare Crit build.
Shit was fun. not the most overpowered stuff but realy funny.
in harder fights red prince would basically just be allahu akbar the character and explode for half his HP as damage on top of his damage reflect and just melt anyone around him before beeing instantly resurrected with full HP and doing the same shit again
>warrior
>OP
nigga what
Are you the guy from yesterday's thread who said he was finally going to try the game?
He means the way that everything in this game creates a puddle.
What do you get from beating the burning witch in Act 2? Fucking scared of fighting her due to that insta kill hex so I just noped the hell away whenever I pass by her.
Ifan is perfectly fine. Better than the possessed bitch and ugly looking elf.
The possessed bitch has the most interesting story of all the origin characters, though.
I can sort of agree, I just don’t like her.
>ugly looking
You can always change her face in transmog mirror though.
I always made my Ifan look like a spanish conquistador with white hair.
shitton of exp and a key to a basement you need for a quest (psst, you dont really need it, just 5 in the skill that helps with lockpicking)
there is an easy way to kill here tho, engage in talking then just chain teleport her with other characters to the demon hunter guy and finish talking, as long as you hit her once youll get exp
Do you get exp for killing summons before they disappear?
well i guess im gonna play again. what builds are fun.
Typically no. If a creature has the status soul bond or whatever it was called that scales it to the summoner's skill, it doesn't give xp. There are exceptions though like the bone golem the dog in the graveyard spawns
>tfw exploring some sewers or whatever
>knee deep water
>oh shit, a shark
>it deals heavy damage
>teleport it out of the water
>it dies instantly
I love this stupid game
PoE is for millenials and DOS is for zoomers, change my mind
>Want to play with friends.
>They immediately make Nigger dwarfs with pink hair, retarded looking skeletons and all sort of stupid shit.
>Get bored and say they "Can't get into it" after a couple of hours.
>"AYOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOLD UP, DID YOU JUST KILL ME? *one shotted (YOU)*"
I never understood why people make grotesque looking abominations in games with full character creators. Unless you're like 10 years old I just don't see the humor in it.
Do I seriously need to ditch Fane from my party? It's my first playthrough and I'm already like 10 hours in but ppl keep saying that having him in my party will ruin the story.
>DOS is for zoomers
Turn-based is a boomer genre though, RTwP is the zoomer genre.
Blame Dark Souls.
you just KNOW
It won't "ruin" the story. Forgive me for using a food analogy, but think of Fane as dessert after eating a good meal. If you play with Fane right away, won't have a bad time, it just won't be the same. Or something like that, the point is, do what you want, all the other origin character are good too, so it's not like if you play with Fane you'll be out of things to discover on your next playthroughs.
It’s not that he will ruin the story, it’s just that having him in your party on a second play through makes you go ‘Ahh! Now I get it!’.
There is no means to ruin the story since the story is garbage anyways. Have whoever.
I always play as a custom female lizard and fuck Ifan.
If I loved bg2 and fo2 should I get this? What about pathfinder?
red prince is chad and him fucking red princess is kino
>change my mind
Why should I?
Could be better, but it's good enough.
>I always play as a custom female lizard
My man!
>and fuck Ifan.
Not my man!
Fuck me. I guess I'll just remove him from my party then if it'll give me more replayability. Like I said, it's my first playthrough and I picked Ifan as my origin character then I have Prince and Lohse as my party members. Should I pick Sebille or Beast as the third companion, what do you guys think? Otherwise I'm going fully blind but I'm pretty anal about messing up the story and shit.
>Should I pick Sebille or Beast as the third companion
Both have interesting stories, I personally like Sebille's more. Beast is a bro, though.
I sure hope you don't go for the Red Prince. That's cuck queen territory.
DOS1 was objectively better. Less meme dialogue and overall tone. Decisions actually mattered, down to even talking to team members affecting personality. No stupid armor system. No busted summoner bs. They basically ruined the core of the game; the rest was alright tbf.
I go for Lohse everytime I'm not playing as her, if I play as Lohse, I go for Sebille. Sue me.
Fane is the main character of Divinity OS 2
