It’s completely fine. Launched with the midi soundtrack, but it’s been patched since then.

I’m going to have to finally give the New Threat mod a try, all this hype for the remake is making me want to play the original again.

The remake is going to lack a bit for not having MIDI instruments, I feel. Just listen to the original Mako reactor theme, it gives the segment so much more character (combined with the camera angles which give it a distinct sense of tension).
