Why were booth babes done away with? Sure...

Why were booth babes done away with? Sure, it's a bit tacky to have your game being advertised with some random wannabe model who couldn't give a shit less about the thing she was peddling, but at least she knew what she was getting into, e.g., a potential way to further her career and break out into the modeling scene. I thought the games industry was all about furthering the opportunities for women to earn a career in whatever way they wished. Did it really hurt anyone by having them around?

That's not very empowering for women, though, is it?

It's cheaper and more effective to just post pictures of whores on imageboards when you want to shill your game.

it makes other (ugly) women feel bad

because it makes video games feel like a car show.

Who cares? They should stick to their biological purpose.

It intimidated many gamers away.
They should ban women altogether from these events for maximum gamer appeal.

They still do, to be honest, just without the tits. If we're going to pretend any trade show is "for the consumers," then we should throw any pretense out the window and at least make it more fun.
I'm calling out the hypocrisy of the games industry who supposedly care about the empowerment of women while also limiting their employment options.

It made trannies feel inferior.

The ban helps women feel more accepted
