Do any anons want to give advice on a person who wants to stream? :)
Streaming
be interesting.
kys first then try
thanks, very helpful user
Don't expect views or money
Invent a time machine and start streaming about 5-6 years ago
go on the rajj show :)
dont stream until you have people that will tune in. there is nothing to gain from sitting there and expecting people to just tune in. You need to gain views outside of the stream itself.
That is expected, pretty sure i can get a few viewers.
i know they will be most likely lurking
Who do you think I am user? John Titor?
make a set schedule/routine and hold to it. If you aren't at least consistent in your schedule, then it doesnt matter if you're funny or entertaining. you wont have an immediate audience, and starting out will be painful and slow. try to network with other, smaller streamers if you're super into a certain genre/game, by giving them hosts and raids as well, and see if they pay back the love.
if you're playing active games, be sure to still interact with your audience that do arrive. dont just hop into a shooter and ignore the viewers. for RPGs, try to talk with your viewers during downtimes. people want to stay and watch if they feel involved.
and, most importantly: only start streaming if its something you yourself want to do. Dont do it because its cool, or a fad, or any of that shit. you have to want to actually stream, and viewers will come with time. it may just take being early to a more obscure game to build your community. It's how I got in with the stream I help, they were early to the Monster Hunter craze and went hard on MH4U.
What are you going to stream?
Are you Memeing? And Rajj Patel you mean right?
Was thinking about being a Variety streamer. i’m pretty good at shooters, but nothing like stone mountain, doc, or tfue. hence why I want to play all sorts of games.
That would definitely net you some viewers
Enjoy never streaming.
I keep thinking about streaming for Yas Forums, but I don't think Twitch likes obviously pirated shit or eroge
Thanks user, will def make a set schedule as it seems the best way to be consistent as you say.
thanks for the advice on the types of games & how to play them. :)
Yas Forums has had multiple people start streaming meme events like BT3 and royal rumble for years before actually streaming anything on their own. just going live and expecting someone to waltz to the bottom of the catalog is hilariously detached from reality
np man. just know that it will be slow at the start. ive only be streaming independently since the start of the year, and I'm lucky t have 5 viewers at a time. but I also don't appeal to most people's wants for a stream, since I'm doing silent playthroughs of RPGs
also that last paragraph is very important, i do want to do it. thanks again
I started streaming as a joke and got affiliate and a regular viewing of 20+ people in 2 weeks. This shit isn't hard at all, and no I'm not gonna post my stream because I don't want Yas Forums shitting it up
lol what kind of games do you play user?
What do you get for being an affliliate?
that's where the game you play comes in to play. if you play the flavor of the month new game or what have you, you'll never be seen because it'll be ruled by top streamers and tons of 0 view streamers who think streaming the new game will get them views. You need to find a game that you enjoy playing that has a small but loyal following.
Is streaming halo a good game to stream?
Just whatever I feel like playing at the time its usually different every day.
Emotes, able to give VIP, you can get paid but it takes a while to get anything. The way they pay is you get about half of the 5 bucks per sub and you only get paid when your sub money reaches $100+.
it's definitely the year to do it, between MCC and Infinite on the way. I tune in to random Halo streams all the time
Affiliate, iirc, is "baby partner". they get access to the basic perks like choosing a different stream quality, small emote list, and access to subscribers. the idea was to let channels get perks, while not requiring them to be 50 constant viewer, massive channel big.
depends on if you cna make a name for being good at the game, or you build a community/join a halo stream team. It's definitely in the group of games that is "you might make it, you might bust"
Iv'e never played halo 1. So I want to steam myself playing the campaign
Playing a game people have nostalgia for, for the first time is definitely a good reason to tune in.
>obviously pirated
pirated games are fine if they're not obvious
emulation is allowed I'm pretty sure
>eroge
that's a hard no from Twitch
You'd have to go somewhere else
Play games you'll enjoy. Nothing is more cringe than somebody streaming something they hate just to try and gain viewers/followers.
Is this where we post our channels? I bet if like 5-6 people from here got together and networked hard we could all boost our ratings until we get partner at least. If anyone's interested in that sorta thing
pirated content is a greyzone for Twitch. they only really care about your content (no sexual, gratuitous drug, extreme violence without reason, etc), but if you make a big deal about where/how you're playing a game, they will step in. So, you can play something like Pokemon on VGA, but if you talk about downloading the rom and other shit, they stand a good chance of shutting you down.
Really, you should be more concerned about people popping in chat and spamming niggers or faggot. hate speech without bans/action taken against them is a fast track to account ban and streaming privileges revoked.
we might get banned
down the road, not across the street
whoa partnered? that would be interesting hah
also can you imagine if a streamer from Yas Forums made it big time kekw
Get a real job like the rest of the world you zoomer piece of shit.
Honestly, I hate Yas Forums anyway so I don't care anyway. This board is complete trash in every conceivable way and I only came here coincidentally because I was bored.
Prolly happens, they just obviously don't mention they browse for obvious reasons. Didn't Pewdiepie used to post his videos here?
wonder if there is a streamer that regularly uses Yas Forums maybe even started out here. Only one i can think of is MoonMoon, but i think he stays of pol for obvious reasons if he even browses at all.
ok so i have been told by many people that i have a very pleasant speaking voice and a decent sense of humor so id make an alright streamer.
what type of content do you think a streamer could pull off that isnt being done? jerma, vinesauce, etc. all the streamers i respect are only popular because they have a special draw. like something they do or have done to attract an audience.
honestly, as far as variety goes, id probably just jump into a bunch of jrpgs blind because im really inexperienced in the genre but i love what ive played. and probably just 6th gen+ nintendo shit and old school sega shit. i just dont know what i could do regularly to attract an audience
pretty sure you cant advertise your channel on Yas Forums
you could make a discord and organize it there, but posting your channel here isnt allowed
vinesauce used to shill his channel on Yas Forums
Avoid Twitch and use DLive (the one PewDiePie uses).
Oh and drop the n-bomb as much as you can before streaming to get it out of your system until afterward.
I'm sure there's a few who do since it's one of the biggest communities to talk about vidya nowadays how sad that is.
I don't mean advertising on Yas Forums but just we all stream individually and then host each/mention each other often and if we do that enough we may gain a somewhat consistent user base. It might take a bit but it would help a lot instead of going in with nothing
don't do it, if you expect to get viewers without having viewers then you're delusional
for example, click on any games in the directory, scroll all the way to the bottom where the 0 viewer streams are, if you have to scroll by more than 5 streamers then that game is too saturated for you to stream
>Do any anons want to give advice on a person who wants to stream? :)
Yeah just follow JOYRIDE137 on twitch and you'll get a fuck ton of views next time you go live :3
i have to drop a few other bombs before streaming like a j bomb. hah
also can you say something is gay? i noticed people can say retard or retarded. but can you say something is gay?
is this thread gonna get nuked cause this guys shilled his channel?
Don't play a multiplayer game unless its an MMO. Otherwise stick to singleplayer games and be good at talking not only with yourself but to your audience as well if you don't want a heavily underage autistic following. Also make sure you stream regularly.
I would watch you just to see how it turns out
no

I know exactly how to strike it big, problem is, I don't have a game I could play so often everyday of the week without getting tired. Also the culture of having to be a big brother to everyone in chat is exhausting from what I've watched.
But here's my outline
>Go into a medium or large discord
>Make friends
>Get on voice chat
>Get popular
>Get on social media (Twitter everyday)
>Once you become recognized by the discord tell them you're doing a stream
>Don't go in discord and ask them to watch you within a week, wait like a month until you're comfortable with everyone there
>Set a schedule like everyone says
>Starting out with 20+ viewers is enough tinder to get you started
>It's up to you, your personality and the viewers you started with that will decide whether twitch becomes sustainable in the long run.
Also no nudity at all. I knew a guy who took *his* shirt off. You'll get banned for anything these days. It's retarded.
I thought about this a lot. But it seems like too much work. I hate discord, I hate social media, I don't like being forced to play video games, I'd get burnt out way too quick. And the whole system is so fucking flimsy. You're basing your entire livelihood on toothpicks. You could be banned for nothing for a week and you lose a week's worth of income. In short, don't quit your day job.
i mean it can’t turn out worse than this guy right?
be a girl
what are large or medium discords? i’m fairly new to discord and only use it for streamers I watch.
I may use this outline user heh thanks ;p
if my ex was a streamer she could be as big as poki. she could still do it desu
This is just straight up negativity my guy, we don’t need that here.
Why do you zoomers expect or think that you automatically will get anywhere near the top, or that you are entitled to success? Stay in school you fucking faggots, you're not gonna be the next blue haired faggot who's name I forgot.
Enjoy streaming for fun. You already play video games so you lose nothing from turning on OBS and get some free VOD storage and cuck amazon from server space. Imagine trying to make a career out of entertaining literal 12 year olds day in and day out. Worse than a fucking 9-5 cubicle office job.
Just stream a newly released game that is relatively hyped up. Cyberpunk 2077 is your next best bet.
