Bros, I am hype.
Bros, I am hype
The couldn't have been a better studio to take this project.
i'll get it early access and play act 1 multiple times like i did with dos2. concerned that it will be like 100 bucks though unlike how dos2 was only like 50
Can you pick the subclasses straight away or is there some requirements?
>i'll get it early access and play act 1 multiple times like i did with dos2
iktf. I think this will be better than dos2 though.
Really? I'm not.
We don't know anything beyond that hour long gameplay stream and previews repeating the same stuff. I imagine its probably at certain intervals where you can advance into Wizard more or pick up a level of Fighter and become a subclass.
Why did they call this Baldur's Gate?
NOOOOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T JUST LOOK FORWARD TO A VIDEO GAME AND NOT TRY TO MAKE EVERY NEW RELEASE TORTANIC 2
I like Shadowheart. I want to make little elf paladins with her.
because its probably going to end up in Baldur's Gate, the city from the trailer was a few hundred miles east of BG.
Fuck you
But user, paladins aren't in the game yet.
Even the header reminds me of DoS2, not that I mind. I'm still buying this game whether you rtwp faggots seethe or not.
dnd game set near the sword coast, with most likely tons of references to people and places from og games. we already know harpers are in, flaming fist will be in
i can't wait to get cucked by that githyanki qt
That's cool. What do you think they'll add before the full release? What do you hope they'll add before the full release?
Is Coronavirus going to turn us into Mind Flayers?
>Githyanki girl is front and center in all the marketing
>Githyanki girl is confirmed to be a slut who fucks everyone in camp when you do her romance route
haha why?
Ever gone camping? Full of sluts.
To hype up a mediocre game by tying it to an existing franchise. AAA devs pull this stunt all the time.
If it's like the tabletop game, it depends on the class--Clerics pick their subclass from level 1, Wizards get it at 2, and everyone else at 3.
no, the little mind flayer worm growing up by eating your brain until it's big and fat and grows outside of your skull will turn you into a mindflayer
also I don't remember illithids reproducing like that. I thought the tadpoles in the vat just kinda grew bigger, but not many reached full maturity which is why the colonies were so protective of their breeding vat. Was the host-taking a post-Stargate change to lore?
Well yeah, user hasn't fucked Shadowheart yet.
its a shop to make it look like D:OS 2
right? RIGHT?
Fair point.
That means you are an elf. Half-elf breeds true elves with an elf.
GOTYAY
I want to see that Githyanki naked
no, bg2 you find tadpoles near iron maiden style human containers with ppl in them and you free them and they attack you. unless i dreamt that
based
they always breed like that, regular mindflayers are made from humanoid races
they are also deviants and tried to breed with lots of different stuff, dragons, ropers, etc
Calling it Forgotten Realms would make less money.
>Tried
They succeeded a fair few times. Who knows, we might actually see some of them.
Everyone who liked BG1+2+ToB but isnt excited for this game/is angry that it's being called BG3 is just fucking ass blasted it takes place 100 years in the future so they probably won't get to meet their hero Drizzt and fanboy all over his cock.
Every single one of them.
>breed with
maybe i'm remembering wrong but in the drizzt origin books he gets mind controlled and i seem to remember the flayers trying to breed races together like experimentation. also using the people slaves for farming, like literal sheep farming, only it was dnd underground sheep
Drizzt's still alive, though. He's an elf.
5e Drow have lifespans of roughly 400years. Depending on how old he was during the events of ToB add 100 years onto that, he may very well be dead from old age.
>tfw never played any of the BG games, but played the shit out of Divinity and can't wait for this game
What's the point of calling it Baldurs Gate 3 if it has no connection to the original Baldurs Gate games?
It might, who knows yet?
If it's set 100 years in the future, the connection is going to be pretty weak no matter what happens.
>and that's a good thing!
It does, though - the city of Baldur's Gate is there, and apparently Bhaal is involved in some way.
So according to the wiki, you only have a few hours to stop the ceremorphosis and dwarves, halflings or gnomes are not compatible so they are making up their own lore
Doesnt Cyric currently have his domain in current lore? Or has that passed again?
what wiki? forgotten realms is written by like 100 authors all making shit up as they go. there's no authority
Nah. Cyric got his ass beat again.
5E sucks
t. 13th Age salesman.
13th Age crpg when?
Actually Pathfinder but i'm not sure how i feel about pathfinder 2e. Its still new
Imagine Divinity with a better setting, no retarded armor and health system and the ability to use characters in any order of a turn. Yep, I'm hype.
Usefulness
>Edwin, Sarevok
>Korgan
>Anomen, Keldorn
>Aerie, Imoen
>Jaheira, Minsc, Jan, Nalia
>Haer'Dalis, Mazzy, Valygar
>Cernd
Cernd has literally no redeeming qualities in gameplay.
What's 5E?
this brings up a decent point
who would you give the Baulders Gate development to, who wound do the game the justice it deserves
>it has no connection to the original Baldurs Gate games?
Why do you faggots keep saying this? Literally the only thing we know about the plot so far is that it's about mindflayers
D&D 5th Edition, the ruleset that the game is based on.
ill just wait for 3 or so years until its a polished turd on sale
no reason to get a unfinished product at full price
jaheira too low, druid summons are awesome
My most anticipated game right now
can't have a game revolving around mindflayers and tadpoles without brainstealers dragons and mindwitnesses
Give it to me. I spend the budget raping cunny.
I don't understand the popularity of these games.
Have you really played through
>Baldur's Gate
>Planescape Torment
>Baldur's Gate 2
>Baldur's Gate 2 Throne of Bhaal
>Icewind Dale
>Icewind Dale 2
>Neverwinter Nights
>Neverwinter Nights 2
>Divinity: Original Sin
>Divinity:Original Sin 2
>Pillars of Eternity
>Pillars of Eternity 2
>Pathfinder Kingmaker
>Disco Elysium
And you STILL need more?
not him, I'm playing through for the first time rn. How do I use Jaheira effectively?
Money
Yes.
Everything after Throne of Bhaal has been the slow agonizing death of the genre and almost everything after Mask of the Betrayer isnt exactly worth more than a couple dozen hours of your time.
Divinity was a great game out of the box. Why would this be any different? Hell even the Divinity beta was great.
Out of that list I've only played DOS2. Played POE2 as well, but thought it was shit.
>And you STILL need more?
Only 5 of those were released in the last 5 years. So thats 1 a year which is fair as they all have different playstyles, storyline and mechanics.
bg1 or 2? for bg1, entangle is great spell, worth using jaheira for that alone imo. for bg2 idk just her elemental summons were good i remember, you get them earlier than the equivalent summons for mages
>How do I use Jaheira effectively?
Early on she's an okay fighter, raise her proficiencies in either scimitars or quaterstaves. Her best spells come in at the higher levels.
The nymph from Call Woodland Beings gives you a bunch of extra spells for one level 4 slot.
Iron skins is near identical to stoneskin for mages and will make her very hard to kill.
Insect plague is insanely broken against mages. It turns many potentially difficult fights into cakewalks.
Conjure fire elemental is a great combat summon and doesn't have the probems that the mage equivalent has.
Natures Beauty will also end lots of fights. Almost nothing is immune to blindness and NPCs won't attack if they can't see you.
>Jaheira
Give her black blood club from Trademeet and Belm in offhand, get some buffs on her (armor of faith Ironskin, everything you want to get her some nice elemental damage resistance, everything you can in spells to increase AC and thac0 except defensive harmony because way too short), get her a strength item like a belt, put her under improved haste and start hitting stuff.
There is a staff giving additional level 5-6 slots for sale from Joluv in the copper coronet, get it and equip it before rest for an extra iron skin. She will become a beast when she finally reaches level 15 druid at 6 million xp, you will then give those inect plagues and creeping doom like they're candy, and it's pretty fucking great. But long before that, she will get her greater earth elemental transformation. And if you stack it with armor of faith and hardiness she will reach over 100 physical damage resistance and will be able to tank in melee like its nothing
Is it me or is RTwP reliant on DnD-style mechanics? Pillars of Eternity and Tyranny were boring as fuck while Pathfinder Kingmaker was ridiculously fun.
I will make some!
>iron skins and insect plague
forgot about these, these are huge. so much so that mods like scs nerf insect plague
