Best of the trilogy for sure.

Great music, great character development, great pacing, fun goals to accomplish, shocking ending.

Best FF villain. Most sympathetic and his actions are understandable.

Eh I prefer LR. Combat is more fun, exploration is better, the world is more interesting, and there are significantly less ties to 13's clusterfuck of a story plus no time travel bullshit. The Pokemon-catching stuff was really great though.

Good taste
And one of the best Final Bosses in FF.

>great character development

Are you serious?

>feel like going back to XIII-2 endgame or replaying
>realize I still haven't played LR on Hard, so I'd need to do that first
Fuck the time limit.
>but it's not strict, you can spam stasis, blah blah
It's still constant pressure and fucking annoying.

Dat Trilogy soundtrack might be the best one in FF as a whole. Fight me.

Yeah it took me like 5 extra years to play it because XIII is outright my least favorite game of all time and killed any chance of me ever being excited by pre-release footage / pre-ordering anything ever again, but when I did finally play it, it basically fixed every problem I had with XIII. Was good if forgettable. Best FF since X. XIII-3 was decent too but felt incredibly low budget and I actually just quit entirely at the last boss because I didn't even care about the story or ending and died like twice or something and felt it was good enough to have gotten there.

Extremely underrated ff game
and god tier music

XIII-3 final boss was rather lame anyways and is beaten in a cutscene after everything.
Half of the story in that game in general felt like a confused missed opportunity.

I see people looking at the XIII trilogy in new light after all the shitposting it has gone thru.

The combat is still bad but they tried to make it more involved.
I liked creature collecting the most and Noel was a breath of fresh air.

You'd still have to pay me an exorbitant amount of money to play ANY of the FF13 games again. I haven't even looked up anything about 13-3 I was just that done with this fucking bullshit after 13-2.

Attached: Tidus Done Right.jpg (500x708, 217.83K)

Some of those techno songs are definitely bangers, that's for sure

The combat was never bad, 2 just polished it and fixed some of the stupid shit it had in XIII.
I just wish we got a game with XIII-2's combat and an actual selection of playable characters. 2 fixed members + pokemon was no fun.

I've only played 13 and 13-2.

Story: 13-2. Caius is a great character with a good motivation and the story seems much less cliched than 13. Muh "the gods just used humans as sacrifices to fulfill their own evil plans," come on Xenogears already did that much better.
Characters: 13. It has a cast of characters with their own motivations, beliefs, and realistic flaws, while 13-2 only has Caius as an interesting character. Noel and Serah are just generic do-gooders. Noel even had amnesia, come on.
Gameplay: 13, if only because 13-2 allows you to largely ignore the mechanics of the interesting battle system. You can just stack 3 COMs to win almost any battle in 13-2, switching to all MEDs or SENs when necessary. SYNs and SABs are pointless in 13-2 due to the monster limit breaks or whatever they're called. Fucking Goblin Chieftain alone makes SYNs completely redunant. 13's gameplay is challenging and finely balanced all the way through to the end making you really master it. I guess you can dogpaddle your way through both games with COM-RAV-MED if you're a drooling retard, though.
Level design: 13. Complain about streamlining all you want, 13-2 has some of the shittiest level design in any rpg I've played. I have had nightmares about that one Academia level where monsters just constantly spawn on you unless you move out of an arbitrarily defined area. At least 13 has a good sense of enemy encounter pacing, even if it doesn't have towns or whatever.
Side quests: 13-2. 13's side quests are almost entirely located in one big sprawling map that you have to painstakingly walk around for minutes at a time. Even after you unlock chocobos, it's just a few minutes shaved off traversing the same map over and over. 13-2 has some interesting timetravel based sidequests in a variety of locations with a variety of characters and stories.
Music: 13. youtube.com/watch?v=vbMbQLUr9cA

Is the Xbox One X still the best version of these games? I want to play them in 4K, but I don't want to go buy an xbox

>Gameplay: 13, if only because 13-2 allows you to largely ignore the mechanics of the interesting battle system
Alright that's enough internet for me. Someone just complimented 13's combat. I'm leaving.

Complains about 13, while posting digicrap. The combat in that game is bare bones as hell man.

they also opened with saying they've only played 13 and 13-2

PC version is about as good or better if you can stand the cutscenes in XIII being lower quality.
PC can do true 4k, and with high framerate (though inconsistently for XIII-2)

>snow gets cucked by some faggot in parachute pants

No you don't. XIII is still awful and should never be played by anyone.

If you subscribe to the "13 combat is just auto battle to win" meme you might actually be retarded.

XIII doesn't even have combat, and that's largely where XIII-2 succeeded

You can choose commands sure but it's clear from the start that auto-battle is the most efficient. The only thing you have to worry about is changing classes every now and then.
The only time auto-battle isn't the most efficient method is Barthandelus where you can just manually apply poison and win.

i unironically like this

It's like this game doesn't exist or something. Every time I say how good it is compared to XIII, no one even knows about it, or they just say something about XIII-3.
I miss that endgame angry testicle that kills everything.

This.

As opposed to what? Rush through menus as fast as you can to avoid wasting ATB usage to win?

>mfw the fucking game crashed right as serah died
give me my fucking dopamine fix you cunt game I finished it i dont want to watch it on youtube and have my satisfaction fucked with

That's because 13 was shit and very few people bothered with 13-2 because they knew it would suck.

There's nothing objectively wrong with it.
A track like this would get an easy pass in a DMC game or somethign but OH NOT THIS DOESN'T FIT MY FINAL FANTASY.
Even though it only plays when riding a useless, literally crazy, time-corrupted chocobo that eats your greens over time so you never fucking use them.

my autism wont let me play 13-2 or LR without finishing 13
Ive tried to finish 13 like 4 times since release and have yet to not drop it 10-25 hours in
furthest I got was the giant open area with the fuckhuge enemies that are way beyond your level at the time and the rocks that shat out shitty quests

not that user but I actually have that track and some DMC3 tracks on my playlist and they are the only vidya music there
Both DMC3 music and crazy chocobo were done by the same guy Shootie HG

>Both DMC3 music and crazy chocobo were done by the same guy Shootie HG
Ah, shit, you're right. Forgot about that entirely. Well, it just supports the point.
Shame they didn't bring him back for DMC5.

>it's a clock puzzle episode
At least there was an online solver for that shit. I swear you had to do a hundred of those.

It really was
I was miffed about having to pay to replace the new music in 5 that I really dont like at all

Unplayable on PC

Imagine having this shitty of taste

terrible english voice acting though, had to mod in the japanese voices after hearing his specifically.

what do you mean? I just played it on pc, everything was fine.

DMC5 tracks are all complete garbage compared to devils never cry taste the blood divine hate suffer sworn through swords never surrender and even the more video gamey tracks like ultraviolet or lock and load
Vs is the worst of the 3 but Neros is hot garbage as well, Dantes is least offensive but still not desirable

Isn't he vocied by Yuri lowenthal or the dude who voices gaara and THE SAVIOR IS COMING from Dmc4? He was fine

Kill yourself lmao, literally shit taste in music

youtu.be/nW9UU_jFF54?t=95

idk why you think so, it sounds like he's doing the 1989 saturday morning cartoon villain voice. it comes off as try hard and melodramatic. the character is very interesting, the voice actor did not do a great job in this one imo.

Devil Trigger is some zoomercore popshit

>lel lmao lmao

18+ website devil maytard.

It’s good but probably the worse of the three.

it was the best one because the game had so much good content. Also it didn`t really have lightning that much.

I don`t know what they were thinking with lighting in the original, it feels like they slapped her on the gtame as the main character half way through production, she barely had any character development

It's great and what the original should have been. While I wish they weren't all dlc but the colosseum bosses were fun.

>Every now and then
If you want to be suboptimal. You should open with sabs and syns to buff and debuff, then be doing com Rav Rav or triple Rav to fill the gauge, switching to com med sen when being attacked (or triple send when a dm happens), all while trying to launch launchable enemies with a com to keep the enemy juggled in the air, and that's with mid level shit.

>If you want to be suboptimal.
It's faster to press auto-battle while you focus on switching classes based on enemy behavior.
Not only is this less effort but it's also faster and gets battles done just as quick or even faster.
>You should open with sabs and syns to buff and debuff, then be doing com Rav Rav or triple Rav to fill the gauge, switching to com med sen when being attacked (or triple send when a dm happens),
No shit? This doesn't take any effort. You just switch class, then mash x to watch auto-battle, switch class and repeat. This is why people hate the combat. It's not fun.
You have very little interactivity unless you FORCE interactivity by ignoring auto-battle, which is not only at the top of the list but always just as good or better than whatever strategies you make on the fly.

it's not that good, casually or 100%ing

This. LR was garbage, especially the ending.
