They all do digital events anyway, the only thing E3 actually exists for is the stage presentations, which can easily be done from within a studio. The biggest issue is the third parties they drag up on stage to parade around their exclusivity contracts. E3 was nice because it brought them together anyway.
Nintendo? Ditched the format for directs. Sony? Much the same, they were doing that PSX stuff. Xbox? Hosting their own event. EA? Own event. Ubi? Basically just exists in the periphery of the other brands, their show has been ridiculed and mocked to a point I wouldn't be surprised if this is just a nice blessing.
E3 has been over since 2010, it's been a steady decline since, and them opening the floodgates when literally all you had to do was apply for a pass (even if you only had 100 subs on youtube you could get a pass) was just a sign for them to fucking rip money out of idiot's wallets because journos still get scheduled private time with a game while normalfags have to sit around the floor and wait, for those scheduled journos to finish, and sometimes don't even get to play the game they went for.
