I prefer laptops over PCs because of work and uni. And I only download stuff for it that I want to emulate. Consoles are cheaper and I'm more into single players, so a PC doesnt mean much to me.

Microsoft is a console company, and yet the PC gaming community has made very little effort to remove their ability to hold back the PC as a gaming platform.

Everything people complain about as problems with PC gaming, are almost universally problems with Windows that Microsoft has no interest in fixing because they are intentional features designed to sell the Xbox.

for PC you need to buy:

a desk
headphones
a pc monitor
gayming keyboard
gayming mouse
gayming mousepad
expensive components like gpu/cpu

with consoles you just buy one and plug it into your living room TV and play on your couch

with pc gayming, not so much

more fun games on console

Pc gaming is still expensive in certain parts of the world and has no where near the ease of use it has improved but unless prebuilt gets way cheaper consoles will always exist.

Prebuilt gaming PCs are eye-gougingly expensive and most people are scared to try and make one themselves.

Microsoft unfortunately uses their money to prevent the release of really affordable and yet powerful hardware. Its still insanely expensive to put together console style systems due to the premium you pay for small form factor systems.

There really needs to be a raspberry pi style AMD64 board aiming to be as powerful as possible for a cheap price.

people who say this dont actually ever play their playstation, they boot it up every month or so and are surprised when they see an update. i use play mine everyday, rarely do i see updates, and never do they take much out of me since it gives me an excuse to do something else in the ~10 minutes it takes to update.

>Cost is still quite high. A basic PC that will play most stuff on medium-high at 1080p/60 FPS is still going to be slightly more then a console.
>A lot of people do not have the space for a PC many times.
>Consoles are easier to set up and manage for most people.
>PC games have various weird quirks with compatibility, be unstable, bad ports, etc.
>Many people do not know how to really use PCs due to using iPads or phones most of their life (No joke, this is a thing).

I am primarily a PC gamer, but I can see why the entry point for PC gaming is hard for many people.
