Shit they’re shit
t
Just cause she's cute and not ear-grating doesn't speak for the quality of english voice acting in general
Only hardcore weeb sheep say english VAs are bad, especially in this day and age.
ggy diggy
this, french dub is infinitely better
>learns Japanese
>defends shitty dubs
Why, you have nothing to lose
english VAs are bad
there's only like 3 VAs in the whole industry
What, did someone hack your tripcode? The real Onioncumman wouldn't say something smart.
Because english dubs are fine, especially in this day and age. Only speaking for vidya of course. Anime dubs are still yikes with some exceptions.
I literally replayed P5 in english years later just to hear based Cassandra Morris as Morgana.
>tripfag
>shitty opinion
like pottery, also filtered
most games have such cringe righting i feel more comfortable reading sub text than hearing it out loud
Eh? What's the difference?
i don't feel the need to turn the volume down if its meaningless gibberish
That's different.
I did something similar with Prison Princess, and that was in JP audio.
For me?

daily reminder that you only think non-English VAs are better because you can't understand what they're saying
That's retarded. You have subtitles
like i already said, that's exactly what makes them better.
>you can't understand what they're saying
speak for yourself, brainlet
Spic here. I like both Japanese and Mexican dubs, but English is just awful. The females can't do a cute voice to save their lives. They always sound condescending for some reason.
I can speak english, german and french fluently and I'm learning japanese at the moment and I can say for certain that you're full of shit.
You will start to appreciate JP VA more and notice some things you can't back when you didn't understand, though.
You'll also be able to pick out some shitty VAs too, something most weebs can't do.
Shut the fuck up Onsokumaru.
for me, it's hellena taylor (voice of bayonetta)
Don't mind me, just the best English dub in vidya.
How did you learn jap, Onsokumaru? How many hours per day/week? Did you go to actual classes?
Jesus Christ.
For me, it's Grey DeLise
Great boner-fuel
Is this Lindsay Lohan?
Why do American toons have more attractive and better VAs than anime dub VAs?
As an azulafag i agree
They don't They just have better writing that doesn't sound as cringy when spoken aloud. If cartoon VAs worked on some shitty high school romcom anime it wouldn't sound any better than the dub made by anime VAs.
Because the work is just more prominent maybe? Like it's a bigger market.
More of a Ty Lee man myself
English voice actors aren't always shit. However, they're mostly only good in English productions. Because they get more retakes and money. This can be seen by someone like Tara Strong, who sounds great in Fairly OddParents or My Little Pony, but sounds mediocre in anime and video game dubs. The actress didn't get worse. It's just that they only let her do 1-2 takes per line and rushed the recording, to keep it as cheap as possible. Or worse, like with FFX, they force the actor to try and mimic the lip movements. So you get stilted or sped up readings. And don't even get me started on the forced accents in Dragon Quest/Xeno games...
>who is steve blum
A mediocre voice actor who's famous for one role. And isn't even as good as the original actor in that role.
Wrong I didn't even watch space dandy
I like his orochimaru
Nah. Cherami Leigh is hot
>Space Dandy
For me, it's Kath Soucie.
>there's only like 3 VAs in the whole industry
You do realize good japanese VAs are so scarce that some of their actors have to voice more than a thousand different characters due to the lack of quality VAs?
Tons of make up and photoshop and she still has a worse hairline than my grandpa when he was 80
all VAs are shit
That's not because Japanese voice actors are scarce but because they use the actors who are popular to sell the product. Just like how mosy Hollywood movies seem to use the same 50-100 actors in everything.
When a company like Star Child holds auditions, they get hundreds of thousands of people. And end up picking 5-10 of them. And of those 5-10 people, only one will get famous.
What the actual fuck are you talking about? Americans are the ones who reuse the same VA for like three different characters within the same game. There're countless of seiyuus and it's a huge industry. Stop making shit up, you retard
Why would a voice actress go full bimbo? Those implants aren't gonna do anything to your voice.
American goblins look so fucking wrong whenever you get a real look at their form.
>tattoo
Instantly unattractive. And sadly, over 50% of women in my area are doing this now. And like 90% of women online.
Why the FUCK do people worship Aoi Yuuki so much? She sounds like nails-on-chalkboard when she plays Futaba.
Better directors and writing is often-times the answer. A good voice director and a competent script can make even literal whos who have never in their life done more than bit work sound amazing. Simon Templeman, for example, rarely had any acting gigs longer than 2-3 episodes. His only VA credits prior to Blood Omen were as a narrator in Tactics Ogre (Where he was pretty good but not the best) and random grunts in a Star Wars game. He was not what people would credit as an amazing voice actor. Then he became Kain and could growl out these bone-chilling lines far beyond anything he did prior and is now a cult celebrity.

She sounds perfect though. She stutters and acts like an anxious neet. It's really cute and faithful to the character. I tried playing with the dub afterwards and english Futaba was by far the worst part. She sounds like a grown up and doesn't have a distinctive voice at all.
She's super crazy, got cheated on by her fiance and then the next dude died before they really dated much
>not having a squeaky annoying voice means you sound like an adult
ok. also her voice is also high pitched in English.

There are good English VAs, but they're far and few in-between. Stephen Russell, Simon Templeman, Michael Bell, Liam O'Brien, Phil LaMarr.
Speaking from the experience of speaking Japanese and knowing an otaku girl who refused to hang out with most people and just wanted to go back to being NEET so she could draw her anime characters and play with her cats, Futaba's voice was freakishly spot-on.
The English dub voice has only a fraction of that character in it.
Well, maybe you find her "squeaky" voice annoying, but a lot of people don't. It's gap-moe and very characteristic. Perfect for anxious neets like Futaba or Kunagisa. English Futaba only sounds high-pitched in her navi lines and social link. In the main plot she's literally the most deep sounding girl out of the whole cast
When you get depressed, your voice sounds deeper because you sound more sad. (also Ann has the deepest voice overall) When Yuuki mumbles it sounds like she has cotton balls in her mouth.
