Adept - LS is kino
Valor - Switchaxe is at a close second.

I havent made it really far into the game yet though so Ill hold my tongue on what monster's my fav

Aerial is a blast on just about everything.

Nobody really wants to talk about GU. It's too anime for oldfags and too clunky for worldsperm.

Most oldfags already played the game on 3DS 3 years ago

No thanks. This is now a MHFU thread. Post your favorite sets.

BING BING WAHOO!

AERIAL HAMMERCHADS, WHERE WE FUCKING AT?

Adept DB is just a feeling I never experienced in another game, DB in MHW feels so slow and stale in comparison I stopped using DB altogether

Obsessed.

looking to grab a switch lite for 180€ next monday to play this. how often is it on sale?
also should I buy a physical or digital version? is there any difference? are installs required?

It's been on sale for like 50% off for the past month on the eshop.

it isn't anymore though.

What do you mean sets? There is only Kaiser Crown X, Ceanataur UUZ, Dark Akantor Hessian, unless you need HGE.

Obsessed with World being a vastly superior game? Absolutely.

dumb bingposter

I've been trying to get back into this game after leaving it alone for a good year or so. Been trying to decide if I want to play with SnS or DB this time around, any suggestions?

MAMA MIA

Yeah and those that liked it bought GU and those that didn't ignored it. Point is nobody wants to talk about GU

>World has 31 large monsters
>GU has 93 large monsters
>superior game

World could have 10 monsters and it'd still be the best MH game.

Quality over quantity, nigger

Been using Guild GS and Alchemy Hammer. Like both.

youtube.com/watch?v=TfAF_FLEVfA

Both are fun and they play very differently, SnS gets a bit broken lategame and is more repetitive and mashy in my opinion.

What do I do if I have shit reflexes and I have more difficulty with the fucking little monsters constantly spawning after I kill them while trying to hunt the actual monster I needed to?

the only other one I played was MHFU and the hammer was more than enough to two shot most of the smaller monsters, here I feel like I fucking hit them 6 times and they respawn in 10 seconds

>>World has 31 large monsters
outdated shitposting already? I can do the same

Dungbomb small monsters and they'll all fuck off for a while. Or set your Palicos to prefer to attack small monsters first.

>world thread
>nobody mentions the old games
>gu thread
>constant shitposting about world
It's almost like worldsperm are the problem

How about you Clutch Claw the fuck out of here with your shit taste

>Crutch Claw
>insert jewel perk to invalidate monster
>Annoying storymode with annoying ugly handler
>Cant play as prowler
>Superior game

I don't know what's more dangerous, trying to dodge at the last second with adept when you're about to get slammed

Trying to guardpoint at the last second when you're going to get slammed

Or jump at the right fucking time to aerial dodge when you're going to get slammed

I feel like aerial dodging is the hardest because tof the long wind up

Why are G rank games always so much worse than their HR counterparts? They pretty much always have to force in some shitty gimmick that ruins the core game for the sake of extra selling points on the back of the box.

Adept Switch Axe, with Tempest Axe

what are you talking about

>insert jewel perk to invalidate monster
I still cannot believe they made such a stupid system with Mirewalker/Effluvia resist/etc

Aerial dodge is waaaay more difficult since reflexes have nothing to do with it, you have to predict 1 second in advance

What styles and arts should I be using with greatsword and switch axe?

Best MH game. World has no soul or challenge.

What weapon/style should I use for total solo play?

No kidding. MH threads used to always be super comfy before that casual piece of shit game released.

>MHGU
>soul
GU is a soulless abomination, completely devoid of any coherent worldbuilding or artstyle
Recycling decade old assets has its toll

im spamming aerial dodge on the monster for BIG DAMAGE and you cant stop me

>and switch axe?
If you wanna be meta about it Energy Charge and Demon Riot. If you wanna have fun then T E M P E S T A X E

Will the cats grab aggro from the small enemies

>4
Solid core game and update to the MH formula but visibly rushed and unpolished in some areas
>4U
Doesn't fix any of 4's actual issues, just makes DB and CB retardproof instead of giving them the small tweaks they needed to be completely fine, did nothing about the broken ass weapons of 4 and instead sucked off GS to no end, then shoved in terrible systems like wystones, removed methods to control the outcome of melding, and was originally going to be full of microtransactions for charms and relics, explaining the god awful grind

>Gen
Significantly improved balancing compared to 4U and the styles/arts are a neat concept, none of them are genuinely overpowered but they do make the game a bit too easy when combined with the new armor upgrade system making you way too tanky, most equipment sucked so you had really bad build variety
>GU
Introduces Valor style, completely ruining the game's balance and giving you even more busted safety nets while giving the usual dev favorites absurd damage potential, other new features are almost all completely worthless, removes Prowlers as a viable option compared to hunters and the new dedicated option for prowler DPS, Beast, is still worse than nerfed boomerangs, build variety is still trash despite having far more equipment than Gen did

>World
Basically a reboot so some of the lackluster parts can be excused, devs admitted they made it easier for new players but wanted to bring back the difficulty later, weapons are redone across the board and fairly close in terms of power outside of ranged weapons being way too good, endgame sucks and deco grind is awful, not a good game but a good foundation
>Iceborne
Clutch Claw. Even more ranged bias. Grinding lands. Deco grind is even worse. Siege monster is even more centralizing.

Every single G rank game has done nothing but double down on all of the bad parts of the base game and introduce new problems on top of that.

They can, if they're attacking them.

Imagine being autistic enough to type out all this shit.
Someone just post a soijak or something for me.

What about MH vs MHG or Dos vs FU, or Tri vs 3U?

If I wanted to cut tails with the hunting horn can I hit it normally and then finish it off with the cutting move or would I have to just spam that one move on it the whole time?

I didn't say it had soul, I'm saying world didn't. Idiot.

Alchemy with bombardier and a crimson fatalis weapon is pretty fun

Anons i finally got nibelsnarf, he was the most annoying cunt so far.

You need to deal cutting damage to the tail to cut it off, so a cutting move is needed, or boomerangs, which deal cutting damage. Just smacking the tail with your horn will just damage the monster instead of damage the tail specifically.

Anyone want to start a turns room?

>any MH game
>worldbuilding
wtf

You are tasked with helping all the villages in their assault from the Fated Four, then setting up the Soaratorium, which bridges them all, then stopping Valstrax. What more could you want?

MHG is basically just MH1 with a few recolors and buffing the best weapon in the game (Lance) even more with Step Cancelling. So no improvements there.
>Dos vs FU
Totally different games, F2 vs FU would be a more appropriate comparison. Also one I can't really say that much about because I never played F2 that much. I know they nerfed GL to not be as good of a turtling weapon by nerfing the guard stabs heavily, and they totally omitted giving monsters in G rank higher KO thresholds so hammer dunks on everything, so I guess there's that? It was also the beginning of GS domination since it's the game that introduced crit draw, shoehorning GS's playstyle into that direction for a good 10 years. But it also did plenty of good things so, FU gets a pass.
Tri vs 3U is really hard to say since outside of underwater it shares more mechanically with P3rd. But a G rank game has no business being easier than its original high rank counterpart, even if one was on console and the other on handheld, and the handheld games are always easier.

How active is the online?

I do, it's the second best game in the series.

what's the first

Oh, and of course, how can I forget fucking SLIME for 3U.
It combines Tri's underwater with P3rd's low difficulty and stupidly overpowered gunner weapons, and then adds slime for that final topping of horseshit. There we go.
Man, 3U sucked dick.

Frontier

kek
terrible opinion kys

Nah, it was definitely the best. People just liked to shit on it without actually playing it. It had tons of issues, but more than enough good things to make up for all of them.
