For me, it's Big Top.
What if I am into that?
6-3
*fweet fweet*
2-2 some nice Fey Lore
3-2 Luke Atmey and Godot's first appearance
6-3 Nice to see you again Maya + very clever Seances
Based and Orlapilled
Aceman, post pics of Sasha plz
Pearl isn't even tall enough to reach my ass. Can't do shit to me little midget.
I actually didn’t hate this case at all. The guitar one from AJ was much worse
>runs all the way from Kurain Village to the courthouse in just a couple hours
>makes Phoenix black out from one slap
What exactly is this girls power level?
Hang on, let's look at the video tape one more time.
4-1
6-2
3-2
5-3
5-3 is the academy one right? That’s a really good case user
patrician taste
Most people seem to hate it
I just played it for the first time a week ago, I’m at the end of the last case now. The only case I found mediocre in DD was the 2nd one
I liked Big Top a lot.
based, this case is a pleb filter
I unironically think the final act was kino. Shame the dummy/clown part brought the whole case down.
HEY PEARL
Phoenix x Iris
5-2 had a great twist though.
He had flimsy motive iirc
NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK
3-2
I enjoyed 5-3 but thought it was way too melodramatic. Still better than 5-2 though, god that case was so boring aside from few short moments.
do they ever say what happened to iris?
Japan is a pedophilic country that fetishizes underage girls and the potential pure hot women they'll become.
In the "Problematic characters for the shipper fanbase" dungeon
6-4 is honestly underrated. It's a fun self-contained case and you get to watch weebquill gush about GLORIOUS RAKUGO.
2-2 and 5-3 are among my favorites too.
Still went to jail for assisting murder. Probably out now, but we'll never know because Takumi never intended for the series to go past 3, and Capcom don't care if the character isn't popular enough.
>They have no idea of the wild ride L-1 and L-3 provide
>They didn't witness being challenged in court by motherfucking Hershel
I've been playing the Great Ace Attorney english translation and the first case in that game might be one of my favorites. It's a simple case with many twist.
3-1. No introductory case will ever even come close. It’s probably the only case in the series that’s actually gets better when you replay the game too.
A great case in the worst game in the series
How well does that emulate? Also how much does it matter that I suck at Layton games?
but iris IS popular, she always appears in the popularity polls
I wouldn't know, I have got it physical for 3DS, the puzzles are much more simple than usual Layton stuff
>worst game
That's Apollo Justice by FAR. DD had some good cases, it just had a bit too much handholding involved.
Not flimsy... incredibly irrational.
You know how everyone sorta likes to talk about how Godot acted irrationally?
Godot was pushed to every emotional limit possible by malicious actors possible, and even then only killed in the heat of the moment.
Meanwhile, Acro had essentially premeditated the murder of a girl who was mentally incompetent because of an accident she didn’t even know she caused.
That and the clown cross examination are why people hate the case so much.
youtu.be
Post underrated music
To me it's not any of that, I hated how every single time I showed something to the clown and it wasn't what I was supposed to he'd go on a 5 minutes dialogue, the one about italians and wine or something
Yas Forumsirgins when they get a gf.
AJ is in my top 3 games, DD is in my bottom 1
Iris was 33rd in a popularity poll back in 2013 and then completely dropped off after that. Adrian and even Viola were always more popular in the polls too IIRC.
To be honest she is pretty dull as a standalone character (in a series mostly carried by it's characters at that). It does seem like only shipperfags like her.
Sorry, I diagnose you with shit taste. Doubly so since Apollo got way better characterization in DD than he did in AJ.
L-3 is Golden Court right? That case is excellent, one of my favourite non-final cases. Shoutouts to DGS-3 as well the only good case in that game
Not him, AJ may have had two very shit cases in between, but 1 and 4 were good and the tone, artsyle and music were top notch, also hobo Phoenix was a bold move and one that worked if it wasn't 5 shitted up on it
3-2 The Stolen Turnabout
I can see Viola since she is cute as a button and very underrated, but how the fuck can people vote for Adrian
>AJ may have had two very shit cases in between, but 1 and 4 were good
4-4 was good until Vera faints. Then it turns to crap.
I2-3 was the best case in the series so that one
>He didn't like being on the other side of the keikaku
Francesca von Karma is a fucking cunt but seeing her in tears at the end of JFA was a true kino moment
aai-4
>4
>good
it completely shafts the fucking protagonist of the game
Is that the one where you play as Gregory? That one's great.
AA1 and 2 weren't about Phoenix either, only 3 was, would the series have continued as "Apollo Justice" all the set-ups about him would have been payed off
I adore AAI2-2, I feel like it's really overlooked. I really like that the victim is the culprit of your previous case and I enjoy the whole mystery of it naturally, but what really made me like it was having Ray turn around his feelings about Edgeworth as well as it having the first signs of Edgeworth being compared to his father, which happens a lot across the game but it starts there and it gets me everytime. I also like how it feels like it's a bit of a side case to the main plot when you first do it, but then later on it gets shown in a new context where you it feels like one of the most pivotal moments in the whole plot. It has a great cast too, even if it's mostly comprised of the game's main cast, it still is your first exposure to them so having the introductions of those characters feels like a point in the case's favor too.
AA1 was about Phoenix just as much as AA3 was
Also the two cases most centered around Apollo in AA4 with the most minimal involvement from Phoenix are considered the worst ones by most people, it has nothing to do with anything really as whatever shit backstory the player character in AA has isn't what makes cases fun
The difference is Phoenix was semi-competent from the get go. Phoenix had to deal with Edgeworth and Von Karma, two of the most ruthless prosecutors of all time. Apollo had Klavier, who basically spoonfed him the answer half the time. Winning with Apollo didn't feel like a victory.
I don't even give a shit about that video. This game barely cares about logic but why the fuck did they keep insisting on that scrawny 12 year old and the blind bitch running around in the fucking air ducts as being the culprits? That shit pissed me off.
hard mode: my fav. is Turnabout Airlines.
I didn't dislike the clown and the ending was good even though the killer was kinda irrational, I liked it because he was irrational. The problem was the the mystery itself for doing some stupid shit with the statue and the whole character that is the puppet fuck, that guy was as funny as eating nails and I don't remember but he probably has a stupid reason to say bullshit in court besides being an absolute retard.
jesus christ this case, he whole foundation of the kid being the killer is retarded when the murdered was a CIA the size of godzilla and he was killed by his own mega magnum the child can't even use properly without blasting himself out of the room, worst part is the vents because there was no finger prints in the weapon BUT there was in the vents, so that means he's the killer because he was there, because of course you are going to take off your gloves when you have still things to do in in the room where you shoot a nigga dead.
In AA1 nothing is about Phoenix, he has to defend people he cares about that's it, the only given backstory is why he Larry and Edgeworth are friends, he doesn't really have any involvment beyond that, Apollo is similar in AJ1.
Phoenix was spoonfed by Mia the whole time for three games even fucking MAYA does it in AA1
Layton sucks shit
I was patient with the game only for it to pull an absolute nonsensical twist
It shows that they first must have said "We want magic but not really" and then tried to explain it away and fumbled
based. Moe is a national treasure.
But my favorite case would have to be.
AAI2-2 for its fanservice.
>How about another joke Mr. Edgeworth
>Phoenix was spoonfed by Mia the whole time for three games
the difference was it wasn't the OPPOSITION doing it. Klavier never felt like he was giving Apollo a run for his money. He's the weakest prosecutor in the series because of it. Even Edgeworth after he's friends with Phoenix still gives him a hard time.
>In AA1 nothing is about Phoenix, he has to defend people he cares about that's it
The characterisation he gets in that game basically sticks for the rest of the series, his mentor dies and he has manage without her, the class trial shit is his backstory until some more shit was invented up. It absolutely was about him, sounds more like you just didn't feel it was dramatic enough or something.
My actual point was that it's not even relevant anyway, the rest of the cast in these games provide the necessary drama. Whatever shitty backstory the player character has doesn't need to be focused on much to begin, the claimed lack of that in AJ wasn't why that game sucked (and it wasn't why Apollo sucked either)
Every case in AAI2 feels like a final case, which may or may not be your bag. They're really long as well. 2-2 also introduced Dogen, I love that guy.
Klavier just isn't antagonistic, he's playful
I don't mind that there's one prosecutor who is a little more chill
Did he really do anything wrong?
>Phoenix was spoonfed by Mia the whole time
he really wasn't, you can probably count on one hand the number of times she actually gives him the answer instead of going "can't you figure it out, phoenix?"
Based and dare I say, Atmeypilled?
>Phoenix was spoonfed by Mia the whole time for three games
Not really, this is a forced meme people like to repeat. He absolutely does most of the legwork himself, half the time Mia does show up it's just to tell him to think outside of the box" or whatever too.
>the difference was it wasn't the OPPOSITION doing it.
It's less that Apollo's spoonfed the answer and more that he never feels like he has any real say or effect on anything. Klavier (who for some reason people headcanon as "the nice prosecutor" somehow) is a big part of that being the case though, yeah.
I tried requesting a drawfag to emulate the Joker scene with Edgeworth and Simon but no drawfag was based enough in the drawthread
AAI2 has a total mindfuck of a story, but everything connects so satisfyingly in the end. Probably my favorite plot in any video game ever
6-4
This could have worked had Kristoph been more threatening in the last case, but considering he was already in jail it was hard to give a proper shit on top of him having only 1 CE.
Ironically AJ's greatest case (4-1) is also the reason why its finale is so weak.
