>30 minute fight of chip damage, potion spam, and mid battle cut scenes
How tedious are the rest of the boss battles going to be if they can't even get Guard Sco- oops I mean "Scorpion Sentinel" right...
30 minute fight of chip damage, potion spam, and mid battle cut scenes
dude I killed him in 7 minutes. what is your fucking problem?
>potion spam
I fucking love seeing you self-proclaimed FF fans who suck at this game and can't understand a combat system because your brain is stuck in late 90ies where picking the Attack option 93% of the time was how you finish the fight.
I hope this remake has limited number of enemies, preventing grinding.
You probably played on (((classic))) that tricks all the zoom zooms who can't be bothered to read descriptions and don't realize they're playing on easy mode.
More excuses huh? No, I played on "Normal" which I guess is the hardest difficulty for now. Get filtered, game journalist.
>can't beat 1st boss
>other anons obviously played on Classic
You work at IGN, OP?
Takes 4 minutes and no damage, git gud.
Anyone would find it that easy after 3 or 4 demo runs.
If you position barrett and cloud to hit the generator ( and use thunder as much as you can) the fight goes quick.
The game gets more fun when you can just the shortcut teammate abilities to quickly multitask.
Which review site do you work for?
press triangle dipshit
>thought the bomb timer started when the boss fight starts, not after
>"blunder of the century"
>go back to check on the original
>it actually starts after
what is this berenstain bullshit
stfu doomer boomer zoomer that fight was hella hype kinorino yo
>implying this isn't exactly how it was in the original
The human mind is much more malleable than you realize user. Your memories might not be real at all.
Huh, is there another boss fight with a timer going off in the background? I remember that too
>about to get hit by an attack
>just switch characters and the attack magically does no damage
what a retarded game
Pretty sure there is. I remember a boss fight with a timer too, but you had Tifa as a third party member.
I think either Ruby or Emerald Weapon have a timer that initiates when you battle them. But I haven't played FF7 since it came out so my memory is probably wrong
I played on normal and it took me 12 the first time. Just learn how to abuse the staggered mechanic and don't forget that Cloud does more damage in Punisher Mode and using his Abilities.
There are a couple bosses with timers. Emerald Weapon, also the train sequence in Corel. There's probably some other i'm forgetting
Emerald has a 20 minute timer if you don't have Underwater materia equipped.
>30 minute fight
Nigger, what are you doing
There's a few bosses with that but also another couple sequences that are timed anyways like the train heist.
I hope they don't do some stupid last minute adjustments to the difficulty because of idiots like you. In that case, never updating this game.
After playing the demo twice when you click with the combat the scorpion fight is not really that long. I was a shittier the first time around.
When did that happen?
It really pisses me off they censored his name to Scorpion Sentinel now. That sounds so stupid.
keep this one too.
>What the fuck I have to actually think about what I'm doing to kill the boss efficiently?!
I can't believe I'm seeing people on here getting filtered by the fucking FFVII remake demo of all things.
The fun of the old ATB system was being able to play slow and tactical
the fight can be beaten quickly by spaming high stagger ATBs.
but its still way too reliant on RNG moments when the boss drops down, and raises presure.
its also too reliant on your ally not taking too much dmg when ur controlling another character, so as not to waste ATB healing them.
its also reliant on attacks just straight up missing u, or relies on u switching characters, so u can keep attacking the boss, so the "pressure" doesnt wear off from blocking/dodge rolling away.
over all, its ok, but needs to let u have more control, rather than hoping u get lucky with RNG like in the sub 5min runs.
ive gotten a 4.5min run, but due to luck, most of the time the boss doesnt just fall down for no reason like it does in the quicker runs.
(you'll even notice half the "speed runs" dont even use the stagger abilities too much.)
>more than 5 minutes
>potions
this board never ceases to amaze with how bad it is at vidya. follow the fucking instructions, you mongrel.
>FFVII
>spam attack and magic weaknessess every battle
>""""""""""""""""""""tactical"""""""""
You never played FFVII
>slow and tactical
>just holding down attack is the most effective strategy for 95% of the game
He said old atb system you mong.
>not using cool things like deathblow or steal all
Not him but except for some boss fights my strategy in all old final fantasy games was to spam attack.
>7 minutes
>over twice as long as the original fight took
I think you just proved OP's point
It's more fun to toy with your enemy and cripple them first in creative ways before you go in for the kill.
how can anyone be that bad at videogames?
>Punisher Mode
Why do I get the impression it's one of the most gay additions to the REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEmake?
He's probably only played phone games up until this point.
why did they censor it?
mobile faggots
I really hate all the shitposting because it gets in the way of discussing actual criticisms and ideas from the demo
youtube.com
>combat aerisu dab
This is so painful to listen to
>This is why they made the game play by itself
Who knows, probably a Sony thing like usual
What the fuck is this? All those cringeworthy lines, terrible voice acting, janky gameplay. Only redeeming feature is the original music just remixed.
Those are some whack ass NRS animations
>there are people who think ANY of the mainline FF games are difficult
Fucking play SMT if you want a challenging JRPG series
>30 minute fight of chip damage
literally git gud
youtube.com

nice trips. also, fuck all that cancerous chatter.
When it did that retarded electricity blast
X and the first 4 games have at least moderate challenge
I think it took me 10 min to kill it, then again I was trying to get a feel of the boss, knowing when to attack.
Reminder to play the demo with the Japanese dub
NES FF III and that goddamned Seymour fight the first time in X definitely come to mind. Possibly the 2nd Rubicant fight or whatever one where he's more powered up in FF IV.
Think he is misinterpreting the Barret moment where cloud takes cover and warns Barret not realizing the player knew Cloud was the one being focused so took the opportunity to put in damage with Barret. It's just someone who didn't play the demo thinking they know what they are talking about.
>Haha someone rightfully points out the glaring flaws
>Must be a troll!
do like this
Maybe I played it wrong but I didn't find X challenging at all.
