Big World is shit and outdated, ALWAYS mod your game manually instead of using this shit or you're literally asking for bugs.
For a first palythrough, go with BGT if playing the originals, convenient EE NPCs to remove beamdog trash if playing the EE, unfinished business for BG1 and BG2, the tweaks anthology for BG1 and 2, the BG NPC project for BG1 (optional but very welcome addition imo) and Ascension for BG2.
Install tweaks antholoy last so it's easy and quick to adjust what tweaks you want. Avoid the "rule changes" category of tweaks the first time around, if only because you will probably have no frame of reference to understand what it does right away.
If you enjoy combat, consider checkin out Sword Coast Stratagems, a collection of many AI improvements and encounter design adjustments that unironically turns BG2 into the single greatest combat-oriented crpg. Probably best saved for a second playthrough, but if you find the combat too easy you might consider it. The difficulty slider is adjusted with this mod, easy corresponding to the base games "core rules" difficulty with only minor AI improvements. Works for both games. You can also consider adding atweaks on top of it, which gives undead and demons their full PnP abilities (among other things).
Always read the readmes of the mods you're installin, it's important.
