Someone is literally talking out of his ass. Ingame item descriptions already gave us definitive answers as to why Gwyndolin was raised as a girl, and it's purely because he was born with strong sissy moonlight magic abilities.

Gwyn knew that the Fire would eventually fade so the best backup plan would be to pass his DNA onto the dragons, since Dragons are known to survive through all ages.

To accomplish this, he "researched" the process with his best buddy, the "Duke" Seath. As you know, Seath was a guy-dragon so the process was very traumatic for Gwyn. To deal with that denial, he had his God-Dragon hybrid offspring all dress up as girls so he could trick himself into thinking that Seath was a girl and he was NO-HOMO. Priscilla was already a chick so that's no issue but Gwyndolin a dude so he had to cross-dress.

Nameless King being exiled was a ruse. What really happened was that Gwyn passed on his dragon-fucking research to his Firstborn, Gwynbig-dickson. His mission was to hide out till the fire fades while fucking as many dragons as he can to pass on Gwyn's DNA. That's why Archdragon's Peak was so hard to find. He was supposed to stay hidden forever but never did Gwyn expect players to look up that location on the internet.
