People only want afps to succeed so they can feel validated now that they're old. The biggest problem with arenafags is they're deathly afraid of straying very far from the trappings of Q3A itself. No attempt to make the bhop mechanics more explicitly integrated with the overall game design, rather than mouse angle relative to movement vector inanity. Very little (zero in the case of this game) effort to deviate from Q3A's weapon selection and game modes. They have a religion and all they do is create more idols in their God's image.

Quake 3 is the best FPS though. Not just the best AFPS.

People are still so fucking butthurt about QC they can only contextualize Diabotical in direct competition with it, even though QC is a husk that's already given up and doesn't give two shits beyond what's next in the battlepass. Yet you still have people begging Sync for maps. Nobody really gives a shit about Diabotical, they just want to be able to say, "See? A small team did better than QC!" When realistically the game will fare no better in the market, and Bethesda has long moved on. They give no fucks what the community thinks.

Quake 3 is the most basic bitch game in the series. Quake 1, 2 and 4 are all superior to VQ3. CPMA was the most well supported tourney mod in the series, but Quake 1 had the best map/mission scene and 2 had the best mod scene overall with a huge number of total conversions like Gloom and AQ2 that were a blast to play.

VQ3 has no aircontrol, no double jumps, no crouch slide, mostly terrible maps that had utterly hilarious item placement prior to patching, and the most basic weapon selection aside from Quake 1. No single player other than bots. The game was a phoned in cashgrab and tech demo, and then Quake Live was a phoned in cashgrab of a phoned in cashgrab.
