Yall ever play NOVA 2? Now THAT was a kino mobile game, Kal Warden was a real chad, yessir.
>QTE fest
>best fight of the game behind a stupid 5 minutes missile ridding section
nah thanks
I've listening to the soundtrack lately and feel like playing again. Seems like a good chance to retake my Jeanne run
>make an obnoxious segment whose only saving grace is that you'll never have to play it again
>repeat that process over and over until you have an entire game comprised of nothing but said obnoxious parts
amazing game, only shitter children think otherwise
Too bad it's all grey
3 news fucking when?
Not the biggest fan of the genre shifts or even most of the boss fights but yeah, it's great.
I'm always amazed at how dedicated action fans appreciate Bayonetta much more than I did. I guess the combat must be amazingly deep and mindblowing in a way a shitter that only sees games to the end like me can't appreciate. Cause while I did enjoy every second of combat (minus the big bosses) the obnoxious 7th gen shit, including QTEs up the ass, escorts missions and A FUCKING TURRET SECTION, really keep me from replaying it as often as any action game would deserve.
Even Bayonetta 2 which is way more straightforward had those atrocious walky talky cutscenes, what the hell is this trash doing in a hack and slash.
Bayonetta 1 is great. I prefer her first design than her second one.
Better theme in the first game too.
I absolutely abhor all enemies that can't be damaged unless you're in witch time or using Wicked Weaves. You know what I mean, those fuckers who are perpetually on fire. They are the only batch of ""enemies"" in the game that I deem absolutely awful because of how much they restrict your options solely by their existence. Alfheims that throw these fuckers in can eat a fucking dick. In fact, finding Alfheims in Bayo 1 is fucking annoying because half the time to you have to backtrack a fuckton just to reach them. They don't even reward exploration half the time, they just test your patience as to how much you'll be willing to backtrack for them. Half the Alfheims fucking suck as well: all the USE WICKED WEAVES, USE TORTURE ATTACKS, OUT OF BODY nonsense can fuck off.
I'm only complaining because I genuinely love Bayo 1. With how much annoying shit there is in the game, the combat is so much fun for me to care sometimes.
2 is for casuals, yes.
Use the fire claws
I don't wanna, it sucks and I don't get enough combo points for the pure plats.
>it sucks
retard lol
Prove it. Show me you’ve Pure Plat anything above normal and convince me why I should bother equipping it. I’ll even show you what I’ve done so far. This is a little old but I’m on Chapter 12 and I’ve pure plat everything up to that. Reply in the next ten minutes or you’re a bitch.
Just dodge offset bro lmao
But seriously. Scarborough Fair on hands + feet is enough to get through you the entire game. PKP, PPKP, PPKKK, PPPKKK. Dodge offsetting these 4 combos is also good. PPKKK is pretty good since it has 2 Wicked Weaves at the end instead of just one.
Is their any shame in using Eternal Testimony to always regen the first two magic orbs?
>hasn't replied
bitch.
Based
It's a lot more than 5 minutes and it is the only black mark on that game.
>Bayonetta
>great
It's the only good game Platinum has ever made.

most overhyped game on Yas Forums, with the most overhyped Japanese Phil Fish on Yas Forums
Bayo 1 is great, one of my favorite action games. Learning dodge offset on Hard and mastering it on Climax made for an incredible adventure. I don't think there is another game which nails difficulty levels as well as bayo 1 does.
You should have realized you can play bayonetta as a ranged character as soon as you have learnt dodge offset.
Prove me wrong.
It also has best hair.
Just finish Hard and play on Climax.
You should be holding down attack buttons when doing combos. Make those pistols shoot bullets and you can deal damage from far away.
Either you haven't played MGR or you have shit taste
That title belongs to Alice: Madness Returns
The Space Harrier section is cancer by comparison. Both sections have great remixes doe
MGR is a fucking awful game. Dull levels, one note combat with barely any room for optimization or player expression, lacks a proper high difficulty setting because revengeance is a complete meme, and all of the alt weapons and sub weapons except for the pincer blades fucking suck dick.
The only redeeming qualities of the game are the characters and music.
>bayo will never give you the leggy
it hurts
Shit taste it is
The boss fights more than make up for everything in between them, they're some of the best in the genre
Only in presentation, gameplay wise they're basic as fuck
>Only in presentation
Which is what people are actually going to remember about your game. Minor details about gameplay are unimportant as long as it's fun and functional.
Nothing wrong with streamlined combat if done well, see Sekiro or Furi
The satisfying parry mechanic and blade mode make the game
I've been playing Bayo 1 for the first time recently. How feasible is it to try to Pure Platinum every stage on the hardest difficulty? Is that basically something that only superhumans can do? How tedious is it?
There is something wrong with it in a 5 hour game meant to thrive off of its replay value
You've mastered MGR before you've even finished your first playthrough of it
Also those games at least make up for their lack of any depth with challenge, MGR bosses not only have only a handful of moves, they have pathetically small health pools.
>small Sam vs giant Raiden
A game doesn't need to be deep or challenging to be fun as long as it controls well, has a satisfying core mechanic and slick presentation.
It's VERY tedious. It's a little easier if you complete the easier difficulties first. Hard is basically IC with training wheels.
>Sekiro or Furi
Games nobody is playing or talking about anymore?
Is there any shame in just using Scarborough Fair 90% of the time? They just feel the most fun to use for me, but I feel like I'm missing out on some added depth by using more weapons
>You should have realized you can play bayonetta as a ranged character
Do the bullets really do that much damage? I always assumed that the bulk of the damage comes from the actual strike
Furi is an indie game so it makes sense why it's less talked about, though the fanbase it has is very passionate about it
You're actually brain dead if you think Sekiro isn't popular, just because there's not 20 threads everyday on Yas Forums doesn't mean it's been forgotten
No, they're the best weapons for learning dodge offset with too. However, you should note that double fire Durga will make you immune to lava floor and fire enemies so you can hit them without witch time or ranged attacks.
It's not. Bayo2 on the hardest difficulty is absolutely retarded for the wrong reasons though.
I love bayo 1 and I don't recommend going for pure plats unless you are very dedicated. Just go for plats and golds, make sure you are restarting bad verses going to the main menu and pressing continue.
All Sekiro attracts anymore is shitposting, nobody plays it anymore because there's zero reason to. Even more so after the patch that turned the game into mortal draw to win.
Just focus on beating each difficulty first, then focus on getting platinums.
There are >2k people playing sekiro on steam right now. That's tekken 7 numbers, which is very impressive for a single player action game a year after release.
>people aren't playing a game with low replay value that only came out a year ago
No shit, most people have already played and beaten it most of the discussion happened in the months after launch
It's the same thing that happens to every single player game especially if it's a new i.p., only long running series with autistic fanbases have consistent Yas Forums threads
How many of those do you think are relatively new players?
Good action games can be played for years and you will still discover new things to improve at. You have seen everything Sekiro has to offer after just two playthroughs, and even that's only because you need to beat it twice to fight all the bosses. But because the bosses and their moves are the only part of the game that actually matters, once you've learned them there's absolutely nothing else left because your relevant mechanics are limited to R1, deflect, dodge, jump (only for sweeps), mikiri (only for thrusts) and mortal draw once you have it.
>, make sure you are restarting bad verses
wait you can do this? i assume you do it right before you get the trophy for that verse?
>with low replay value
And there it is. The game has no replay value, because there is zero substance to it past the enemy design. If the combat wasn't so "streamlined" then maybe you'd have people still experimenting and learning things past the first week after release.
how the FUCK do i beat witch trial 5 bros? i dont want to cheese it with the whip and bracelet of time but it looks like i have to.
Fuck you, I'm playing Furi right now.
Just double jump, then use shoot on the floating head angels. Jump off their heads, then repeat.
If you have the whip already, it's piss easy. Why would you need the bracelet of time? Just press and hold triangle to grab one, then press the jump button to jump off them. When you're in the air, repeat the process. You should be able to beat it easily.
Yes. Just quit to the title screen before the verse is over. I'm pretty sure 70% of my time spent on pure platting IC difficulty was quitting and restarting verses from the title screen. PG was pretty generous with the checkpoints.
Yeah as much as I dislike that section Space Harrier Climax Mix is fucking ace
>the only black mark on that game
>bike section
>turret section
>QTEs, plenty of them insta-death
>escort missions
>backtracking for extra verses and Alfheim
>Alfheims obligatory for plat
>all bosses save for Jeanne, Balder and Rodin are giant setpieces
>all the grinding necessary to get everything
>game never explains dodge offset
>floating head angels
uh i dont know what trial you think i'm referring to. i'm talking about bayonetta 2's last optional witch trial, on NSIC mode, wihere they mash all these different bosses together like loptr and alraune, balder and jeanne etc.
Fug, my bad. I thought you were talking about the Alfheim portal challenges from Bayo 1.
Sekiro is still sitting in steam top ~50 sellers so there are definitely new players.
Maybe it's not the most replayable game in the genre but I like core gameplay a lot and I will still boot it up from time to time. Currently on another ng+, and I have yet to see the Shura ending.
based peacock theater masked man
Sekiro is carried entirely by its superb animation work and visual design to dress up its incredibly simple core gameplay. It's a textbook example of a game that's all flash and no substance.
Why is "substance" important?
Balder's VA was fucking great in 1.
JEANNE! STAY CLOSE TO ME!
FLOCK OFF FEATHERFACE!
IVE GOT A FEVER...and the only cure is more DEAD. ANGELS.
MAY JUBILEUS THE CREATOR...GRACE YOU!
You've been naughty!
HAAaaa
LEVITHMON!!
is tehre a more quotable game than bayo 1?
Why should I give a shit how replayable it is? The combat and enemy design is excellent and the difficulty is satisfying to overcome
I will replay it in a few years when I get the urge again I don't need extra builds or modes to experiment with when the combat is so perfectly polished
Marvel vs. Capcom 3, personally but I get you.
MY DEAR.... SWEET.... CEREZA
>You have to overwrite your save file to play Jeanne's campaign
Y tho
No you don't. Just start a new game and select Jeanne. Then save Jeanne's game in a different slot.
DMC3. I could start listing examples but I might as well just post the entire script.
Isn't it a good thing if a game lets you learn all of its mechanics within a single playthrough? I don't want to play through the same game 3 times in a row.
As if it's a bad thing. People also call it a rhythm game implying other games don't involve rhythm. Might as well call it a puzzle game, because each enemy is a puzzle to solve, a pattern the player can unravel using the tools you listed. It might be simple at its core but it doesn't make it any less satisfying.
Sekiro strives on interaction between you and the enemy. A lot of games give you offense, sekiro gives you tools to work through offense.
