There are a fair amount of JRPGs on the system, though notably many are ports, though some are multiplat releases alongside other consoles and of course some are exclusive. If you missed out on them previously then it's a pretty fucking godlike machine for portable RPGs. Spiritual successor of both the 3DS and Vitas JRPG libraries in one place.

It's good, but for 200 you can get a new 2DS xl, a DS flash cart, and a couple micro SD cards. With those you can hack it and play every RPG on NES, SNES, GB, GBA, DS, 3DS, and some from the Megadrive and PSX.

the Switch literally has the least amount of games of any genre compared to any other system. If you buy a Switch and expect to play more than just the 1 or 2 exclusives Nintendo releases every few years then you're basically just paying for a very expensive paperweight.

>Grandia HD (Widescreen, upscaled ports of Grandia 1 and 2)
>FF8 Remastered
>DQ1-3, shitty ports but the games nonetheless
And a lot more, and then you have newer stuff like Octopath, DQXI S, Shining Resonance, The Last Remnant remastered, etc.
It's not PS1 in terms of the quality of all these games but it's as good as you'll get to another JRPG-heavy console.
