>UNLEASH YOUR DARKNESS
The fuck was this supposed to mean?
UNLEASH YOUR DARKNESS
Apparently, your evil soul can use all battlechip data you've collected so far.
Somehow.
>dude battle network's writing is so shit lmao
It says RELEASE you illiterate fuck
Oh.
At least the gameplay is good.
>DarkInvs
>RELEASE YOUR DARKNESS
I'm assuming you use the Dark data infection to turn invisible.
I never touched Dark chips. Fuck that MaxHP draining shit.
I think that pic is from 5. If so, in 5 you can double soul using the dark chips to use them with no hp loss. Just if you don't time the move right, your soul will escape and become an enemy mob
>Just if you don't time the move right, your soul will escape and become an enemy mob
Does its difficulty increase the more Dark chips you use or the higher your own stats were?
It does what the boss version of it from 4 does, or what it does if you die while using a dark chip. It moves around randomly using random attacks you've used. So yes, the stronger things you use, the stronger it'll be. The only difference is in 5, it's immortal. You have to kill the mobs besides it, dodge for like 2 or 3 turns, or run.
>the undernet reacts positively to nebula's bullshit
>immediately in the next game, it is opposed to WWW's plans
>consistently used Dark Chips in 4 thinking it would unlock a style change like in 3
>turns out there was no such thing and I ended up lowering max HP by ,
200ish for no reason
Sure is a damn shame that they got rid of styles.
Double souls for life!
>I liked BN 4
Blue Moon reporting in
It does become better when you get Proto Soul.
I honestly think I prefer the Cross/Soul System because it was like the .EXE equivalent of copying Robot Master abilities, but Styles were cool too.
Nebula, and the WWW aren't the same thing. The Undernet in BN6 probably toned down a lot, though.
That's literally the final soul you get in terms of tournament order, and you have a chance to get Junk Soul instead of Proto Soul.
Anyone else had mixed feels on Starforce?
4 was my first, still love it.
Red Sun had better Souls, honestly. Wind, Thunder, and Search Souls were great. Fire Soul is about on the same level as Aqua Soul, except Geyser's were probably more effective since they nerfed Disco Inferno
People really hated BN4, and I agree that the execution was incredibly poor for the most part, but it was a nostalgic game for me. I especially loved going to Castillo, and listening to the music on replay everytime I went there. Shame that Netopia wasn't as large as it was in BN3, though.
When I first played SF, I found it awkward compared to BN. I had to get used to the characters, the setting, and the general gameplay was different, but I ended up loving it a lot.
Same. Seeing bass for the first time was amazing. He was like some dark god encased in stone
Show of hands, who here got filtered by this guy in Network Transmission?
I liked it too, it was different in a good way, since things felt really stale to me in 3.
It also gave me my first experience of using a gigachip, which I never knew were a thing until I received the Blue Moon chip.
>touhou
You have a fresh thread up right now. Post there.
If they got rid of the random Navi's in these tournaments, and focused strictly on the custom Navi's like Metalman, and etc, BN4 would have probably been fine. So really
>All custom Navi tournaments
>No having to repeat the game twice or more to get all the Souls
>Better battle chips, and codes
And people would have easily loved it.
that's not bubbleman v2
I hope Capcom rereleases a BN on a collection like they just did with Zero/ZX
I started out hating it constantly going "Wow, Geo is so unlikable, everyone is a carbon copy of BN character, I wish I was just playing Battle Network" and eventually warmed up to it hard. 2 is still horrible most of the way but 1 and 3 are great, 3 especially. Gameplay is also fun even though it's not as technical, and you can tell they tried to improve it more with each game, 3 especially.
I like both better than several BN games for instance.
Zero and Starman filtered me far more than I care to admit. The Life Virus is basically a victory lap at that point with its amazing music.
youtube.com
Bubbleman isn't in Network Transmission.
Starman never bothered me, but zero is borderline undodgeable. Every time I have to use a program advance for it's invis to win. First time I play that got filtered hard by bright man until I learned about reflect
I need to play that but I feel as a guy who sometimes wins by the skin of his teeth that game is going to tear me a new one
>And people would have easily loved it.
Nah. There are still more problems:
>too much backtracking (fuck Park Area 3)
>fucking annoying mini games
>youtube.com
I love the BN games translation
I love both series. I hope the guy in pic related was not really important to SF games, i really want SF4...
I guess "I have an IQ of 170 !!!" couldn't fit the dialogue box
>mfw I realized you can combine the dark chips with other chips to roleplay as other Navis for three turns
BN5 was bad but I enjoyed parts of it.
>BN5 was bad
What?
>BN5
> a bad game
Choose one and only ONE
What was this game's name again? Might pick it up and give it a go since I'm starved at the moment.
Shanghai.exe
Shanghai.EXE or Shanghai Genso Network
t. Stinks at liberations
Is the latest version a reddit post from two years ago? It says it's still in beta.
imagine licking shota dick and balls all over
I think someone on /jp/ can link you to a full version.
It's complete.
There is a thread for it, included the download link.
> /jp/
FUCK. I'll go look, thanks.
First of all you shouldnt trust reddit, second, the base game is finished and only lacks postgame content with the latest version being from a month ago ,and third, someone share the gitgud link with this fag
Good: 2, 3, 6.
Bad: 1, 4, 5.
I found the thread but all I see is a lot of DMCA trouble shit. Is that download link even English patched?
None of them are bad.
6 > 2 > 4 > 5 > 3 > 1
>there will never be a shark soul
Literally who the FUCK CARED ABOUT FUCKING WOODMAN
Thats the correct answer, although that order is messed up...
I didn't like 2, but never hated it outright. Playing through all the BN-SF series again just made me enjoy SF3 much more, it really got the formula right at that point.
Thats a spicy list. I go: 5 > 6 > 3 > 2 > 4 > 1
Battle network collection PLEASEEEE capcom. I will consoom. Take my focking money
The only thing I might change about my list is BN6's placement, because I finished it almost 10 years ago, and I'm replaying it now to reevaluate how I feel about it.
The rest I finished for the first time within the past 4 years. BN5 I just finished a couple weeks ago.
I want to savagely rupture the frog lady's anus
I can't relate, even tough I only played SF after playing most of BN I still like SF more not just the story I prefer the gameplay as well
That reminds me. Anyone know how Zero/ZX Collection handles the Zero DS / Zero GBA shit?
Because I'm wondering how a Battle Network Collection would handle all the extra stuff like the Boktai content and if they'd include Battle Network 4.5 or Operate Shooting Star.
Im more of a teacher-guy but i must admit frog girl is very fuckable
It means that you should use chaos shadow soul.
All that content is there. you're allowed to play ZX as if Z3 or Z4 is slotted into the DS, and they also give you access to all the e-reader cards for Z3.
They're learning
The zero games are literally the DS collection versions of them. It gives you the option of playing the japanese versions BUT they are non translated so unless you know moonrunes you are fucked up...
Favorite soul.
So if we do get Battle Network - or better yet a Battle Network + Starforce collection - we will have all the stuff properly set up.
Good to know.
The DS collection had this thing where if you played with the GBA titles in the slot, you had extra shit. Some of it was good, some of it was so-so, but it was a nice addition for people who already had the games (or later got the GBA titles for cheap).
>that one doujin where she gets off by shoving frogs in her pussy
Had good points
Had bad points
Noise system in 3 is amazing; getting weird-ass chips as rewards is cool
I did not like being locked to only three tiles though.
SF2 was atrocious. 3 almost got a perfect style system but unfortunately the requirement for building noise being neutral element chips and 90% of all noise changes being elemental based made the remaining few that benefited neutral element chips too overpowered.
>like mega man
>like tcgs
>really love the concept of battle network in general
>post game/multiplayer devolves into just really unfun, undodgeable OTK setups where fights end within 10-20 seconds of match time
Or at least that's my experience with 5 and 6. I wish the chips were just slightly toned down and typical matches lasted a little longer with more emphasis on dodging and longer term setups
I like how this villain is simply named "Dave"
Dave the Bomber.
Watch out guys, it's DAVE!
>undodgeable OTK setups where fights end within 10-20 seconds of match time
Well no shit, people want those S grades for the drops.
I will now play your game.
I started at 5 and I liked it. I also never played another one to compare it to
Double Team was even better.
Which one is better version of 3, white or blue?
Blue.
white, don´t listen to the bluefag
>3 near the bottom
Are you insane? 3 and 6 are the two best ones (unless you really really liked 2, in which case maybe that could edge one of them out)
Pretty sure Blue has better Giga chips and an additional boss fight, but Mistman, and Ground-Style in White are cooler than Bowlman and Shadow-Style
Blue literally has more content over White, so you might be interested in that.
4 is awful and anyone who likes it more than 2, 3, 5, or 6 is a shit eating retard. I can give people a pass for liking it more than 1, I guess.
Will a Battle Network Collection contain both versions of each game?
>The Undernet in BN6 probably toned down a lot, though.
Meanwhile, in Shanghai
Maybe, the games are not heavy so its posssible
>Heat/BubleCross getting turned into Heat/BubleSide
Why the fuck did they do this? When are enemies ever vertically aligned? You also ended up losing out on two panels worth of damage. What a fucking travesty
>Thought people connecting all their home appliances to the internet was stupid and it would never happen
>fast forward to now
If anything, Battle Network ages better with time.
Does anyone have a mega link? for some reason, i can't find the translated game.
I'm suddenly reminded of the Rainmeter skin that turned the desktop into an interactive PET from 4.5.
Wasn't i hit by a Cease and desist?
Blue, in Japan Blue was just an enhanced rerelease that Capcom tried to sell as an equal version in the west.
The Internet of Things was already starting up when the BN games were being released, don't be stupid.
Like that stops the internet from sharing things.
Remember the Chrono Trigger romhacks that got C&D'd? Or AM2R?
Saw an IoT lightbulb the other day
The future is bright, my friend (:
mega.nz
Look a little harder next time.
>spoonfeeding redditniggers
god i hate you people
Blue has more content than white, some better abilities and chips, and some bug fixes too I think
Chill out, Eric
I really want the net to evolve to the point it does in the BN series. They could probably capitalize on net battles, and general net navis like shit
Navis would be snitches.
Ok, thanks. I will go with blue after finishing 2. What about 6? Falzar or Gregar?
SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU FAGGET, I'M NOT ERIC
>post game/multiplayer devolves into just really unfun, undodgeable OTK setups where fights end within 10-20 seconds of match time
For S ranking navis yes but have you actually played MP in BN6? Stall folders are super viable and it's not uncommon for matches to go to the turn limit. Trying to OHKO is generally a pretty bad tactic because if your enemy manages to block it you've wasted a ton of chips on nothing.
Falzar has better forms for PVP meta, I've heard, but Gregar has COOLER forms
>japanese humour
Falzar, of course, there's a cut content patch for it that Gregar doesn't have. Plus the Beast Out for it is much more versatile and cooler than the other version
Gregar is also derivative. We had Gospel in 2
>that Gregar doesn't have
That hasn't been the case for years.
>is much more versatile
You mean shitty.
>and cooler than the other version
can't argue with that, though.
how tf i get those ability cards in MMBN6? Do I need to do some Action Replay shit?
You mean mod cards? They're JP only and were historically physical DLC. You can just load them in with cheats though if you're playing on an emulator. There's some resources on the internet that got the codes for each of the mod cards.
Be a gentleman and stay under 80 MB
I didn't like 3 too much. There was more backtracking than usual, it had some really obscure shit you had to find in order to progress the story, such as the random shit in the hospital that you're supposed to just know is an origami bird or whatever that retarded part of the game was.
They also had no idea what they were doing with the navicust in that game, wasting a full hour or two of playtime from how many times I had to open up the customizer, quickly swap in shrink or elemshot or whatever so I could progress, then go back into the customizer and swap shit out again so I'm not handicapping myself in fights. That hit shouldn't have been involved in the customizer at all, especially since those programs had no effect on battles and were just glorified key items.
tbf 99.99% of games have shit writing. The gameplay makes up for it
Why do people prefer Gregar over Falzar?
Gregar is really just a recolored Gospel, but I love his general design over Falzar. Feels more intense, too.
Heatman is cool.
Maybe they prefer the rapid fire buster over the three-way buster?
What a cute boy
Falzar's navis and crosses are kinda lame by comparison. Good ol' dustman, everyone's favorite . Plus Gregar has based chargeman, its not a fair contest
Balls to the walls hard hitting forms
Cooler forms and elements (Cursor&Sword>Wind&Break, Fire&Elec>Aqua&Wood)
Wolves are cool and hunt in packs
COLONELFORCE
Gregar because it has the best navis and best form, just don't forget to get the patch
Just wait for the mega links
>You can just load them in with cheats though if you're playing on an emulator
I thought the code was removed outright from the game with BN6? Or was it just the Beast Gate code? I'm positive it was both, though.
Gregar Beast Out is far better in combat. That machine buster, man.
Tomahawk Cross is awesome, but one single form does not make up for everything else Gregar does better.
I meant if you're playing as the Japanese version, you're right.
Man Japan had some weird obsession with physical card based DLC. I remember the codes in Starforce.
Cute and funny Sonia cunny
Cards are cool user.
Heatman, Elecman, Slashman and KILLERman are cool
TomahawkMan, and Tenguman are lame
Hey BN fags, turns out there is another cute blonde in your franchise but you NEVER speak of her, hell, i think you don't even know she exists, explain yourselves.
>TomahawkMan is lame
Fuck you pal.
No one played her game.
I would talk about her more if we could experience the phantom legends ourselves
Re-release her game on a platform that isn't dead and unemulated and we might.
It was a mobile game.
She is trapped in an old japan-only phone game which was never dumped so of course we don´t talk about her. Also she looks like a proto-Luna
>TomahawkMan, and Tenguman are lame
I though they were cool.
>uses Geddon
What now, Gregarfags?
>Also she looks like a proto-Luna
Holy shit she does
I really like the twist of this game.
Reminder that there are translated japanese-version Virtual Console roms of 6 out on the net, and they're probably the best way to play it.
Holy shit, she is FLAT.
Yes for a OS that existed only in Japan, came out right before the iphone and was niche in Japan as well. People have tried looking into getting some of those phones before but it's nigh impossible to get the game.
>AirShoe's in your path
There is also probably a wiiu patched version of BN4 but for some reason everyone just keeps playing the default bugged gba versions
The game breaking bugs were emulator issues mostly, you won't experience that shit anymore on new and modern emulators.
>Super Armor > Air/Float Shoes
Damm, just imagine playing a "legit" bn game on your phone when there was no tactileshit. Japan is full of games like this which were never released and trapped in niche old phones. Thank god almost everyone uses now .APKs
No. The problem was with the game code itself.
Liberation missions were an interesting idea but 5 suffered from 4's shitty fallout and being full of tons of annoying gimmicks. I wouldn't call it outright bad but it's pretty damn mediocre compared to the BN standard.
1 is a good game but is hurt by being the first of its kind and the lacking QoL improvements of later entries. No idea how you'd rate it worse than 4 of all things. 4 is genuinely one of the most disappointing games of all time.
BN5 is fine, honestly. Liberation Missions are a fun new addition, and are really easy to manage once you get used to them. Double Souls, and Chaos Unison are a based gimmick, and if you can mod in the E-Reader cards, you can give Megaman a lot of customization options. The only downside of the game really comes from the Battle Card codes being weak, and the general Battle Card roster being weak as well.
And lets not forget S being the only worthwhile code for 90% of the game.
On top of a good base chip line up it got Sanctuary, SuperVulcan, ShadowMan, SwallowMan (LarkMan), Searchman and ShadeMan as navi chips. And all 4 navi chips are super good on top of that.
Play the main story of 5 again and you may realize what I meant by "full of tons of annoying gimmicks".
4 has fun gameplay moments, mostly cause I like the boss battles and double souls. 1 has nothing. shit viruses, shit bosses, op chips, crap armor, crap map, escape chip, and more. 4 can be ass, 1 is boring mega ass. Lightbulbs , that is all
>Nobody (his actual name) survived his civilization downfall because he was frozen.
>Upon waking up, goes reeee because he thinks the modern people is using his people tech for evil bullshit.
>Tries to unleash his people super weapon (the same one that destroyed them on first place) but Lan and Mega kicks his ass with the help of someone called "l.o.n" who keep sending messages to lan explaining how kick his ass.
>Got kicked so hard that gets send to the past, just when his civilization collapse.
>Turns out his people survived.
>"Oh shit! I was an asshole!", Then proceeds to prepare messages for lan so he can stop him from fucking shit.
>Signs the messages as "l.o.n" (legacy of nobody)
This is the most cool BN plot ever and is trapped in some unplayable software.
What did the nips who played her game think of it? Was it good or mediocre?
imagine not being able to beat this
Network Transmission was my first Battle Network game. I was trying to play it like a Classic game without worrying about chips all that much. I got stuck for hours.
No idea.
It's not particularly hard but it's a completely unnecessary and annoying part of the game. That entire portion of the game is ass, fuck the Pikmin shit too.
I bought the battle network 3 port on the Wii U ages ago. I recently redownloaded it and gonna play through it again. It was my first BN game. Are 1 and 2 any good?
Pretty sure all its fault of one those very rich nips that would rather have games and prototypes picking dust in a shelf than dumping them to the world because of very retarded reasons
Battle Network collection better come before Legends. I really don't care about Legends.
Oh, you mean the gimmicks during dungeons? Those weren't that bad to be honest with you. The only one that bothered me was the Gargoyle Fish comp in End City. The Ninja Progs were cute, but I hated maneuvering them around the dungeon to disable traps.
The S Code was damn near the only versatile chip code in the game. A lot of the other chip codes were limited to specific souls, and those are split between games.
2 is good. 1 is ok but lacks QoL improvements, is short and the encounter rate is quite high
2 is the best game in the series.
Literally everything in the game other than pure virus busting followed by a cutscene is unnecessary. But that would be boring as hell. I like a minigame here or there to break up the monotony, its part of why 5 is my favorite. After 4 fucking games with identical formulas, the liberations were a breath of fresh air.
1 is underrated but hard to play once you've gone through any other BN game. 2 is the peak of the series and absolutely incredible.
4 was really fun, and a fantastic breath of fresh air after 3.
1 has nothing going for it, it was the first game, and it shows. Its so painfully mediocre that I'm honestly shocked we even got 2 afterwards and the series didn't just flop.
This was the biggest flaw of 5 for me. I dread when the BN collection inevitably happens, because I'm not going to be able to get past this. I had to slow my emulator down to frame by frame in order to finally pass this stupid minigame.
Its one thing to have minigames, and maybe require you to get a decent score in them to progress, that's fine. But when you're required to be a god at the minigame in order to progress, that's some bullshit.
I love stable time loop stories.
They're going in canon order, so Legends is next, then if they want to do the alternate timeline, we'll get BN and SF.
What is everyone's problem with this thing? I lake like 2 tries max, 1 because you zone out. I've only played 5DS, was the GBA just super laggy? There has to be something I'm missing, samurai was easy
I hate time travel stories, especially stable time loops. ESPECIALLY stable time loops with information from the past feeding into the present because the person from the future went into the past.
Not him, but same. The dungeons were well designed, and had nice little gimmicks to them. Besides that, the Liberation Missions to uncover new portions of the net was based. Lan actually losing Megaman for a short period of time, and getting the resolve to use another Navi was great as well. People give BN5 shit, but it's easily one of my favorites in the series. It was also my first BN game, so it holds a special place in my heart. I recently got the ROM for Double Team DS since I hacked my DS, and I'm loving Sol Cross.
It's as unreachable for most Nips as it is for us.
There had been an entire high quality playthrough of it on youtube at one point (now removed for some reason) and the game seemed good enough. Clunkier, slower and much more basic than the main games but far from unplayable.
I hope, because after seeing this
im scared that they will drop Starforce out of the Legacy Collection club if they don´t bundle it along BN
Almost like Yas Forums's pendulum swinging contrarian bullshit.
Shinsuke Kodama didn't even create the concept for Star Force. He was mostly just a coder, or something along those lines. People started overreacting over this, but he didn't do anything "major".
>BN was right about the future of internet again
BASED
I didn't get to this point on GBA, because I always got stuck super early on in the BN games when I was a kid, except 6 because I had the guidebook for it.
I didn't get through 1-5 proper until I started emulating them for convenience sake instead of searching for my cartridges.
I don't really think it was an emulation problem though, but I failed this shit for hours until I decided to just cheat it. Its really shit that they throw this ridiculous rhythm game shit at you and expect you to be able to just get 100 hits. If the goal was 80, that would've been much more manageable.
>in canon order
That's fan speculation, Capcom nowhere said anything resembling this and besides, Legends is only very loosely tied to the original games (it's so far in the future society could have been destroyed and rebuilt many times between ZX and Legends). It doesn't really build on any story from the Classic/X/Zero/ZX.
>4 was really fun, and a fantastic breath of fresh air after 3.
That is the hottest take I have ever heard in all of history.
Really? Thank god, my hopes of the unlikely SF4 are not dead yet then :)
2 > 3 > 6 > 1 > 5 >4
Its a safe assumption, seeing as how they skipped over Legends and BN, and went straight to Zero and ZX, so it clearly not release order.
Either they're going in canon order, or they don't plan on making collections for Legends and BN.
Why?
If they drop Star Force out of the collection club it more likely has to do with the games itself rather than anything related to the guy. Star Force needs the most work of any series in order to be properly ported (and that's without even considering online battles) and is not exactly popular.
>Videoman's scenario
Damn, the minigames in BN4 were lowkey kind of ass. That one chef minigame with Flav was annoying as fuck, especially.
goat RANKING
But I kinda have more fond memories of BN4 over 5
>or they don't plan on making collections for Legends and BN
Haha thats a good joke user......
This is my personal order as well. You have great taste user.
How? The story progression was way different with how it revolved around tournaments, it made folder building more interesting with the limited amount of chips until NG+, and it didn't have nearly as much backtracking. Plus they did the navicust properly.
For me, it's
>3 > 6 > 2 > 5 > 4 > 1
What would you guys consider to be the best starting point for someone looking to get into the Battle Network games?
If 1, 5 and 4 aren’t in your bottom three of BN games, you’re doing it wrong.
1
If thats too rough for you 2
Damm you are right....more reason for it to be bundled along the BN collection because if not, Crapcom might just give up on porting them alone
6>3>2>5>4>1
1 will always hold a special place in my heart for starting it all off though.
Play 1 and try to put up with the datedness, if you can't then start 2.
BN4 was just a mess in it's entirety.
>Have to replay the game up to 3 times to get all the Souls, unlock the post game segment in the Undernet which boils down to a boss rush, and get every battle chip
>Tournaments were padded with pointless side missions, and irrelevant Navi instead of focusing strictly on the special operators, and their custom Navi to make things more interesting
>All the damn bugs, like Woodman's scenario
>General world didn't feel as big as the prior BN games
>Chip Codes, and battle chips in general were utter ass for the most part
>Those damn sheep viruses REEEEEEEEE
>Not enough dungeons, there was only the Radio Tower Comp, Castillo Robot Comp, and the Meteor Comp
So yeah, pretty poor game.
Yeah, you can't really be too hard on 1, because it's where they were getting their footing. The amount of mechanics and changes introduced from 1 -> 2 is impressive, though
* codes
Forms
Different panels
The net actually has variety in design
I'm probably forgetting some more shit.
2 is honestly the best place to start.
1 is really rough around the edges, and I could easily see it turning off newcomers.
If you want to start with 1, go ahead, but please give 2 a try if you get fed up with 1.
Fuck BN1. Play the enhanced version with new content, and the quality of life changes that make it smoother. Operation Shooting Star is far superior. From there on, proceed through the games as usual. For the dual versions down the line, I'd say
>Blue > White
>Red Sun > Blue Moon
>Colonel > Protoman
>Gregar > Falzar
You can do whatever you want, though. Blue objectively has more content, and some bug fixes over White, though.
BN has enough games for a collection as is and also needs quite some work (especially BN4 with its free tournament mode).
I think a combination with Legends is unironically more likely for Star Force since Legends seems to be easily portable + few games in both series.
I play an instrument, so I guess I just have good rhythm.
Playing Shanghai only made me crave even more Battle Network games. Why the fuck is this franchise dead?
Starforce should have ended with two games called "Sonia version" and "Luna version", besides the usual differences, the main one if with what girl Geo ends with, later games would avoid mentioning who was Geo's wife so fans never ever get a "canon" answer.
BN mobile game soon™.
I pray to god it's like an improved PoN or LoN but for mainstream phones and isn't some gacha shit.
Alright, I'll keep this in mind. Thanks!
I though it was almost comfirmed to be gacha shit tho....
Can you share a link with OSS english patched? The mega link with all Megaman games only has it in japanese...
You can get the patch from TREZ. Just follow the info from here
therockmanexezone.com
That reminds me of the Inazuma eleven Go DS games where in one version Mark married the rich girl and in other he married the daughter of his team trainer.
Also
>Asuming Sonia is nothing more than a fembro
Because noise forms get gorilion of bonus buff and they stack. Rogue noise getting +50 sounds op, then some multi noise hits you with +80 with add effect.
Thanks
Whats makes 2 so good? I’m gonna attempt to go through 3 for nostalgias sake and hopefully not lose interest midway through.
>The story progression was way different with how it revolved around tournaments
Ah yes my favorite. 3 tournaments in a row while the proper extremely limited narrative is split up before and after them.
>it made folder building more interesting with the limited amount of chips until NG+
Limited options lessen variety. And AirHoc exists anyways.
>it didn't have nearly as much backtracking
Their solution was using the generic net areas for everything and filling in for the usual dungeon gameplay with really bad minigames or doing shit like reversing your controls. I'll take some normal padding between proper dungeons over that any day.
>Castillo Robot Comp
And that was one of the worst dungeons MMBN has ever had. I genuinely fell asleep playing that the first time.
That is also a good option, considering Legends is only 3 games if you count Tron Bonne Misadventures
People usually place 2 pretty high in terms of BN ranking because of either
>Nostalgia
>Chip codes, and overall chip variety was amazing as fuck
>Style System was okay, but not as refined as 3
That's about it. The story was awesome, though. There's a lot of backtracking when you actually get down to playing it.
Best narrative in the series, lots of powerful chip options, great dungeons that have interesting gameplay twists that don't become annoying in the process (the rest of the series really fails at this), fantastic soundtrack.
is right that there is a decent amount of padding in the game, but it's not that bad. I play through it every couple of years and those parts are over fairly quick each time.
That and it not needing two versions to get everything
>That and it not needing two versions to get everything
Lol, instead you needed to link with someone that had BN1 (those grey chip trader thingies).
Someone explain to me why 4 is considered to be the worst
I don't know why people love to hype up BN2/BN3. The amount of backtracking, and general padding in these games is annoying.
This, for the most part How do you even get filtered by this minigame? It's easy as all hell.
Needing to replay it 3 times to access the post game
I don't know why everyone took "annoying" to mean "it must be really hard". The GBA d-pad wasn't really made for that sort of thing and it doesn't have much place in the game. I dunno what the guy who failed it a bunch of times' problem was.
True. I didn't even find it annoying, really. It's only bad if your emulator was lagging hard or something. It was a lot smoother when I played Double Team DS on my 3DS.
They remain the purest games in the series with the fewest intrusions on the core gameplay to try to mix things up in a forced manner. This is mostly true for 6 as well thankfully. I don't like 3 as much as everyone else does but I will admit it has the best postgame of the series by a longshot and that does wonders for it.
I’ll keep that information in mind if I ever do get the urge to play another game in the series after/if I beat 3 again. I played 4 and 5, figure a “new” BN game would be better than a retread of those.
There is no such thing as bad BN game. 1, 4 and BCC are just mediocre at worst
on top of also the fact that so many god damn content of that game was locked behind multiplayer stuff. The game is much more bearable if you can do some occasional free tournaments in between story line shit.
>purest games in the series with the fewest intrusions on the core gameplay to try to mix things up in a forced manner.
What does this even mean? If you're referring to the Soul System, it's thematically not that different from Styles, and they're easier to access. Outside of that, there's the Emotion Window, but really the combat was consistently fine for the most part.
What did he mean by this?
Hi Lan!
its just BN in name, it's not gonna play like BN.
BN on touch controls is fucking dumpster anyway.
>I played 4 and 5, figure a “new” BN game would be better than a retread of those.
No, it'd probably be more of a retread of BN6. Which is truthfully the most polished BN gameplay we have, so yeah.
Stay clear of Corona, lan
>BN is the best Megaman series
>yet its threads are the worst when compared to other Megaman threads
why
4 has minigames all over the place and 5's dungeons try a bit too hard.
Not enough people discussing the games sometimes. Recent threads have been full of really, just lewdposting.
Don't forget that BN4's story was mostly forgettable. It literally just boiled down to a giant Tournament, and the Meteor stuff didn't come into play until late in the game. That in and of itself was pretty poorly executed, so..
>I dunno what the guy who failed it a bunch of times' problem was.
I'm not him, but that minigame has held me up more than once. In my case it likes to throw no-win rushes at me during the last few waves, where three of the blues won't be in attacking range until the faster red and black ones are up my ass. I'm also playing with my phone's touchscreen so sometimes I miss a snap direction change.
BN6 would be hyped up more if it had more difficulty, it has by far the best raw gameplay of any BN game or even any Mega Man game but the bosses you fight are just way too weak considering all the stuff you get. Its post game is also just too little if you're not playing with the content restored JP version.
That's fair for BN1 and BN4 but BCC is dog shit
Wtf are you talking about user. The thread has been going well for 95% of the time
>Shanghai
>"i want to fuck ____"
Could've been worse but still
Pedophiles.
>4's minigames
Ah, for sure. Those were a little annoying, and some of them were far too sensitive. Like that cooking minigame with Flav, or Videoman's scenario. Fuck those guys.
>5's dungeons
Aren't really bad, honestly. I'll give you the Gargoyle Comp, but that's about it, and it's late in game. Every other dungeon was pretty precise. I especially liked how Liberation Missions deviated from the usual story to dungeon formula, but that's just me.
BCC is fine, its definitely more enjoyable than 1.
>implying there's anything wrong with discussing fangames
>Shanghai bad!
You need to cope, Andrew.
it's all over when pedo-posters arrive
There is when you just bring it up to trigger people
Again, Shanghai isn't bad. Its fans are
u wot?
Classic and X threads are awful. Almost no one can fucking agree on anything. At least with BN, mostly everyone gets along, and nothing is X6/X7 levels of bad, so even the rarer opinions don't get much shit for it.
I really enjoy 6 and think its main scenario beats out 3's, but yeah, the near complete lack of postgame hurts it so much. Even the JP content doesn't fix that too well. I don't think it was necessarily too easy compared to other BN games considering the absurd tools you can use in this series in general.
BN/SF threads are fine when people aren't sperging about Shanghai, or mentioning it to purposely annoy people. Classic threads are usually the ones filled with bickering galore, and X threads are usually the same. Zero/ZX threads are probably the most consistent.
>Almost no one can fucking agree on anything
That's the point of humans user. They have different opinions. It's those opinions that make the threads more interesting and not just "X1 good rest bad"
Okay, I can agree with that both of those.
And let's not forget that lewdfags destroy each and every thread. Even the Z/ZX threads have their own dedicated lewd shitposters now.
You kinda have too because capniggers are still trying to take the game down. Not that they'll succeed.
Depends on the thread honestly, a pure non BN waifu/shotafagging thread can do well but there's too many things that trigger us BNfags
>Shanghai
>Anti-Shanghaifags
>Star Force
>Shotafagging
>Waifufagging
>Star Force
Why? Its waifu wars kinda annoy me but there's nothing wrong in talking about the actual games
>Star force
You fucking asshole.
Starforce barely triggers shit compared to the other things you listed. Speak for yourself.
Fuck off, Star Force is great. I even like 2.
thanks user
Maybe not anymore but in the old days it was definitely capable of derailing entire threads with a mere mention.
>neutral element chips too overpowered.
What? Swords were OP for sure, but Wolf and Gemini were broken as shit due sword bonus + element effect, even then most broken cards were elemental.
A good fire folder with Taurus delete everything. Also remember that 100% noise pierce invis, no matter which card. It's 200% on pvp for a reason.
Different opinions is one thing, but being contrarian for the sake of being contrarian is another.
People will rate X6 or X7 as the best game and claim anyone who thinks otherwise is just bad, people claim X1 is the only good one and everything else is unplayable garbage, people claim X1-3 are the only playable games, or X4-6 are the only playable games, people blow small flaws in the games way out of proportions and have far too extreme opinions on what's good or bad.
Its just not an enjoyable type of thread at all, its just non-stop bickering and shitposting, and nothing else. X is my favorite series, but I just can't stand the threads anymore.
Not him, but I just want to say that Sword folders were typically busted in general. If you saw either Gemini, Rogue, or Wolf Noise, you were in for a fight. Besides that, multi hit cards were a pain in the ass too with the right noise.
X6 was the best from a story perspective
I recall at least one of the Battle Network games having really awful chip translations (and probably the rest of the script too).
Fuck that.
>Set up Poison Field
>Use Poison Storm
Nothing personal kiddo
It's only when you compare X threads with, say, Sonic or Persona threads, that you realize how surprisingly tame they are. Most of the time X Anons actually give arguments on why they like X6 or hate X3 without going mental, meanwhile call SA2/P5 good and you'll get thousands of "hehe autist" replies.
Pretty sure wolf benefited swords as well. Gemini also benefited them, my point is that both of those help out non elemental so they synergize well with the non elemental chips in their folder that are there to build up noise. Other noises do NOTHING for neutral chips.
