PS2 got the worst? You sure it wasn't the GameCube? Sure it looked better, but a lot of games had cut content or serious compression because of the mini discs Nintendo used. The mini discs also kept a lot of devs from making ports at all. Off the top of my head, Prince of Persia Sands of Time had a lot of cut dialog, and by the time Two Thrones came around, they couldn't make it fit on a disc, so they cut it entirely

Not really, Sony really tried really hard to make good exclusives to the PS2, they created new ips (Ratchet, Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper), and interactions of PS1 franchises (Gran Turismo, still the GOAT) and obviously they also created the buggest masterpieces Ico & Shadow of the Colossus.
But the thing is, PS2 had so many different and great games made by 3rd parties (like God Hand and Devil May Cry) that those titles ended up overshadowing the majority of Sony own games.

You can try the original battery mod, open it and sold another battery that fits in to the battery board. Some old mobile phone batteries with 860mAh may fit well.
