In the long term? New DOA2 remaster would do a lot for the franchise right now. Basically remind fans why they continue to play the games in the first place
leading up to a DOA7, with strict development focus on bringing as many characters into the game as possible, with no FUCKING STORY MODE soaking up development resources, and a VF tier costume customization feature that they could actually JUSTIFY releasing loads and loads of DLC for replacing all of the development energy that continues to be wasted on story mode
but that's just my two cents on what the series could do for
instead, they're going to release Tamaki to pull VV players into DOA6, continue pumping out costumes at an alarming rate with inflated prices, and eventually peter out and claim the franchise is dying again like they did at their last DOA5 tournament

This. Getting rid of the resident 'Western Market Expert' and his woke agenda would be a massive first step. Then you have to fire the entire board of Koei-Tecmo, or at least force them at gunpoint to take a hands-off approach to the direction of the series. Then get a director with some vision, actually pay him a decent amount, and give him a budget to actually make a game that isn't a downgrade or has only minor cosmetic 'improvements'. It doesn't have to be Itagaki, but someone who might be interested in seeing the series become special again and willing to work to make it happen.

1. For DOA:6 they should make the main game, the DLC and the Season Passes less expensive to garner more consumer interest into an already failing game.
2. In Venus Vacation's case TN should return the game-play so that players can play Volleyball again and add more mini-games (Darts, Surfing and Swimming) and sports options (i.e Table Tennis, Water Polo and Basketball). Also exploration would be cool by controlling each character around the resort and beaches.
3. If DOA:7 is ever made it should be either a fusion of DOA vs Virtua Fighter, DOA vs King Of Fighters or a mix of both.
4. Create new characters and martial art styles, add improved animations, enhance the graphics and physics for next gen rather than import the same things from Last Round.
