toggle your hud by pressing triangle or your console equivalent until you have a triangle-shaped boost meter. Look closely at this meter, there are 2 markings in the center. The first indicates at which point you can start get a boost by hitting the opposite shoulder button, the second indicates at which point you can start to get a perfect boost.
perfect boosts keep your speed going longer than the good boosts. once you have the rhythm down, you won't even need to keep an eye on your hud or even your wheels. By default, the wheels have a glow that shows you just how close to a full drift boost you will get if you were to press the opposite trigger right that moment, it's easier to keep your eyes on since it's on your vehicle.

if you are continuing to struggle with the idea of hitting both triggers, you could change to the alternate control scheme that puts accelerate on a trigger and you can trigger boosts with X or your console equivalent.
using the sticks is much more difficult especially with air breaking, once you get used to it it'll become second nature

it's actually not that hard once you get used to not pressing your thumb on the accelerator all the time. once you've got boost speed, your reserves will literally propel you the rest of the way, all you have to do is keep boosting and steer

Well tbf CTR multiplayer feels pretty much dead with a long delay to find a lobby and when you find a lobby it rarely lasts until you return back to the queue.
Multiplayer might be more populated this grand prix since it is focused on the coomers characters.

Crash cove is actually surprisingly technical, at least on time trials. The worst tracks are coco park and inferno island by far. I don't mind playing any other tracks.
