I think they already know. But coming to a realization about the world around you requires introspection and some accountability, because after all - you live in the world to and are part if it.
In many ways normies are the most to blame, even more than bad actors, at least bad actors have passion and goals.
I think the real reason they prefer the veil is because most of them have probably done some pretty questionable things in their lives.
