Allso to elaborate, there was never any trade scantions against the USSR, because the US elite does not mind communism. They appeared when Putin broke off in a nationalist direction.

The USSR leadership was never reviled in the way Putin is, and the american goverment gave hundereds of billions in aid in the "lend lease" programmes which obviously never were repaid.

The only aspect of Communism that the american establishment ever had a issue with was their expansion and their atempts to create separate trading blocks.
