he said that a couple of the GM dudes he was with in china went to a chinese factory and agreed to make those crankshafts for the price for 2-3 cents per crankshaft.

Car parts are dirty cheap to make, cars are already really cheap to make, it's fucking 100 yo technology. your everyday cuckbox at best has 40 yo tech in it, e.g. DOHC, double wishbone, etc. made with 2020 tools and factories.

To be honest I doubt the chinks will make cars on-par with its Japanese competitors like Mitsubishi, Honda, Nissan or even Toyota. Rule of the thumb is buy Japanese, German or American. And if you wanna buy a chink car because it's "cheaper", ask yourself why it's cheaper and think about it for a while. You often get what you pay for in the car industry unless you're buying a German car; those are for flexing how big your wallet is.
