I remember 10 years ago watching a forum with him and other people who had UFO experiences, and it was extremely engrossing, and many of the stories were very believable and given by very credible people.
However, in the years after that, Greer kind of went of the deep end into crazy land. He COULD be right...but lots of what he peddles just doesn't have much hard evidence to back it up. If you want very solid, based on facts information on UFO's, I suggest Stanton Friedman. Very evidence based man. It's hard to read his pieces and not STRONGLY think that these are not human beings piloting these aircrafts.
Though I haven't looked strongly into UFO research in a few years, since I decided with a fair amount of confidence that they are real, and not human piloted, and thus had no need to research them anymore since I got my answer. I'm not sure if Stanton is dead, I think he was pushing 80 last time I read one of his articles.

Cool stuff. Best what one can do for themselves is to a) empty your pre-programmed stuff and everything what you have learned before, b) research on your own, read as many books you can (in fact when you go bit deeper there aren't that many authors who aren't batshit insane or in for the money) and research for documentaries. c) It will take some time but you will start to see the bigger picture and at least some parts of it. Just be careful to dismiss everything what you think is too over the top - "angels" and "the new age" bullshit.
It'll take a while. Jacques Vallee, David M Jacobs, Stanton Friedman, these all have very interesting publifications. Start with Passport to Magonia, it can be readily found as a pdf on internet for free, for example. You will need to build the puzzle on your own.
