Can the Senate even investigate this? Biden is not a sitting Senator and he's not a sitting President. He's a private citizen, running for President yes, but still a private citizen. If Biden broke the law, law enforcement agency with jurisdiction over the crime that should investigate.
Also, once the GOP embraces the practice of show trials for sexual assault allegations, that's it, it becomes the new normal, and rather than defeating #MeToo, you'll have rescued it.
