I am interested to stock a library with books of Zaydism; it is said that there were many in Iraq and Iran before the time of the Safavids, when all were called to embrace Twelverism alone. Then there are those in the Mahgreb, competing with Ismailis. The Rassidic Imamate of Yemen was founded in 897, making it contemporary with these events as well.

Indeed, Twlever Shia are only the most numerous because of the actions of the Safavids, Iran was full of many different Shia groups before them. Zaydi shias were even present in the Hejaz, the Sharifs were Zaydi, until they became Sunni's sometime during the Ayyubid or Ottoman period (it is not known exactly when). Books on Zaydism are few and far between, translations even rarer. I have found some in my time looking for them
