Honestly video games are nothing more than a time sink. You could be doing something productive, vidya will keep you sitting and clicking away for hours, doing nothing. I tend to agree, but I see no difference between a deep and intense strategy game and playing chess. It’s just an upgraded medium for doing mental exercises. Some just swear off technology for the sake of avoiding technology.

Video games are for children. Competitive ones like Tekken, FIFA, COD that can be played in a social setting (i.e. with other people in the room, a few beers etc) are fine once in a while. But living vicariously through vidya characters and storylines, or obsessing over muh lvls and muh stats is pretty gay. Plus, it is not conducive to saving the white race

Im pretty sure that learning a foreign language using adventure games is being productive. Not only you have to understand what the characters are saying but also interact with the environment and solve puzzles which would be difficult without understanding the language.
Strategy games are also god tier for obvious reasons.
