Nixon dropping the gold standard and opening relations with China are likely two parts of the same plan. It was the 2nd half of the 70s when the post-war boom started to lead to the stagflation we know today. I feel like there was something they forced Nixon to resign for. There are too many people who fell for the propaganda regarding communism who think it just means free shit because everyone works together. I would be ok with commuting the sentences of all communists with an IQ below say 115 to nothing, imprisoning for life those in the 115-130 range, and executing those 130+ or some such.
