I used to listen to Chomsky’s speeches a lot, and he would mention conservative intellectuals throughout the history of the US, and how they had a great tradition. I forget the names that he mentioned, though.
He also would refer to himself as being conservative or at least more conservative than the neocon types that he goes against.
He’s probably the only “intellectual” I’ve ever really heard, I’d like to read those conservatives but I’m lazy and have ADD, so reading is tough.
