It's no good giving someone a pill, any pill, if they're minutes from death before you give it to them, and it defeats the whole point of doing the trial if you wait until there is 0 possibility of them recovering because they're more than half dead already when you give it to them.

Also, you need zinc supplementation in concert with hydroxychloroquine, otherwise just using hydroxychloroquine by itself will fuck you up because it is a zinc ionophore.
Haven't read the VA study, but I guarantee you that they either didn't supplement zinc or omitted that detail because they wanted a study to make it look bad.
