I went to a catholic high school with a ton of Lebanese people. At that time, it never dawned on me that it was strange to see so many Christian lebanese people, I didn't even mentally pick up that they were middle easterners.
It was only later, with the learning of world history, that I realized that Lebanon used to be half christian, and that the chaos caused by the palestinians drove them to mass emigrate.
It doesn't make them "seethe". Palestine is essentially Israel's punching-bag.
not sure how true this is, but an israeli I was talking to online told me that palestine used to be a practically empty place, mostly inhabited by christians. the modern day palestinians came from mostly egypt and saudi arabia.
