In marxist idea of "justice" both the criminal and the victim are equal. Without the other, there's no other either. Therefore, when someone attempts to stab you, you are equally involved in the happening, so therefore, you and the lunatic who tries to stab you are considered to be as quilty. The basic premise is that "these situations are illegal and should not happen, but if they do, all parties are deemed as quilty".
