Why it isn't?Before Communism Ukraine was a total rural shithole full of poor religious fanatics, we had no change not even with the Tsar or alone to become what Soviet Union turned us, there had been few major cities and pretty poor but with the Soviets in few years we urbanised most of the Ukraine and we became one of the most industrialized regions of the Union producing cars, trucks, airplanes, electronics etc, the education rose and all the dumb peasants were turned into cultured people and had a better life into the new built cities.Ukraine would've been worse and weaker if it wasn't part of Soviet Union
